  • Other Info She is a very nervous and shy dog, previously been used as a breeding dog before rescuing. Still had harness and lead attached at the time. I followed her Friday around 3pm up racecourse silverdale and lost site of her. Fellow dog walker saw her turn right onto park road and then a right slightly further down to head across a field into woods. We have had information that after 20 mins missing she was seen heading towards Keele university with a blue car following her.

Thank you all 😊 she's settled well and eating fine. Noticed a graze by her left shoulder so we ran her up the vets to get it checked over. Vet says health is great and nothing to be worried about and had a lucky escape.

WE HAVE HER! It was a bit of a weird one today, managed get her sister up and get owner and sister walking through the woods. I decided to just keep pushing into the shrubs and nettles until I had any sign of her, spotted her and managed to stay quite with out her noticing. Managed get dawn to find me from lost dog capture team CIC which was a mission on its own. Dawn managed to grab hold of her with her sisters owner and managed get her out to safety. Words can't describe how thankful I am for the help and support we had through the whole ordeal. Massive thank you to dawn at lost dog capture team CIC and Lisa at greyhound gap for all the help we had and all the resources used.

That's such great news! Hopefully she will stay within that area now and show herself again. Any luck with the BBQ? Involving her sister sounds like a good idea, she will surely be attracted by her scent and by seeing her if that brings her out. At least you know she's safe in the woods and away from traffic etc. Please let her be home soon! x

Great update today. Me and my partner were moving cameras and re-feeding the area and decided to leave a different way, on that way out we both heard a whimper so we both stopped and looked.... There she was just stood starring at us! She was on the opposite side of a fence but knowing we couldn't approach we carried on, she turned and walked away into shrubs. We managed to get back around to where our car was and she was following the hedge line back into the woods. We sat for some time hoping she may show back up but thought it was best to leave now we no she's safe and is still in the area. We are going back later to sit and have a BBQ to try draw her out. We also have potential to bring her sister up to the area as well to help give her come confidence and to give her a positive scent.

This sounds positive and everything crossed that the plan now in place to safely capture her will work. Let's hope she's tempted by the trap very soon! At least you know she's still within the area and not too far from home. Good Luck!

Thank you for the update Yam, I haven't been in touch directly as had already been made aware that you have some experienced support & am aware how overwhelming the situation can be, I will continue to follow & am hopeful that the efforts will soon result in safe capture of Isla, keep strong x

This is a very positive post :) yesterday we set up a barbeque in the spot where she was seen but had no luck. After returning home and waiting till the sun started to set we decided to head out again to see if with night coming she may show herself, but as we were no more that 50 meters from home we had a phone call from lost dog capture team saying we've got her on camera eating. It wasn't where she was sighted and was still towards Keele, so the sighting couldn't have been her even though adamant. Either way at that point it was something so we were still greatful, after arriving in with the lost dog crew we talked about options and decide to set up a small trap and camera with plenty of food. We are now on a waiting game to see if she shows any interest and to see if we need to change the trap to bigger one.

I really do hope her nose twitches at those sardines! She may be clever and find her way home if she knows that route, fingers crossed . If she's a shy dog she may well hide in the daytime and hopefully is still in the area and won't have gone far, so when it's quiet and towards dusk she may well appear. Sitting still and calling repeatedly really can work, for dogs and cats. Poor girl will be frightened and you must be so worried. Hopefully some more sightings will come in to help you get her home quickly now.
Yam
Thank you Gaynor we really appreciate it. We have just been around the area with flyers to post for more of the elderly. We have stuck to one route when walking to hopefully make her only follow that so it helps her find home easier. We are going to go out later when its more calmer to just sit and listen, I have also sardines and smelly food with me most times so hopefully she will pick up on them and come searching. Thanks again.

That's positive news and especially if she's closer to home than previously. Hopefully she will stay in that area, she may well lie low until this evening. The best thing as you'll know is probably for you to position yourself somewhere quiet within that area, sit tight and repeatedly call her softly rather than move around too much disorientating her with your shouts coming from different directions. Hot smelly chicken? I do hope she's home soon and will keep my eyes open in meantime (Keele).
Yam
We had a 100% sighting last night around 8pm heading from Keele golf course back towards home. Must of got spooked when seeing people and ran back into the golf course but close to silverdale side
Gaynor
Any further sightings of Isla since the Friday evening one? If she's up at Keele there are so many places to shelter and hide.
