- Any sightings?
- 2020-06-26 12:12 Unknown
- Yes it can happnen when a new pet or even when a new baby joins the household;cats will sometimes "Pack their bags, and leave home: probably felt left out?
Check ALL outbuildings inluding emoty houses, and cellars THOROUGHLY as some cats will hide in or behind an object within especially if timid. Bear in mind too that cats have very flexible spines so they can squeeze into very small spaces (About 2"/3" wide (7/.7 05 metres) So has he managed t climb into a partiaal opened window, and is now trapped? Exiting can be more difficult. Check trees; any deckings too. Put some tuna/sardines, or warm chicken in his dish, and call him; night/early morning is best; rattle some treats too. Empty contents of the hoover onto the garden, as his scent will be there;'litter contents too. DO NOT
put the litter tray/box outside as other cats may use it, and it could confuse, and upset the cat. Just because you can`t see a cat it doesn`t mean they aren`t around. Plae his UNWASHED blanket into a clean container along with your scent too. (Not the puppies). Place in the garden in a sheltered spot, or hang on the washing line if dry; used towels too. Wipe his scent on all your garden fences; gates; doors too; anythiug leading up to the garden. Try a squeak toy as it may attract his attention. Take a good walk around the area, holding an object with his scent on, and rattle some Dreamies. Someone may be feeding him (Common problem) When it`s nightfall, and you are searchin use a strong torch as the light will reflect a cats eyes. Poster around the area and post flyers through doors too. Post a LOST CAT ad in a National newspaper too. Ask family, friends, and neighbours to share as well as DL. Twitter too. It is possible that he has been chased out of his own territory by a more dominant cat in the area, and has become lost, and disorientated. However the chased cat will not return until it`s "Safe" enough for them to do so. These are the many reasons why a cat may go awol, but if it is out of character for Percy to go missinvg it is probavly the new puppy. when you find Percy, get two pieces of soft cloth, about 6" by 8" then wipe the puppy`s scent on the first cloth (Do this by wiping the cloth around all the puppu`s neck area) Place the cloth under Percy`s food dish, and place his favourite treaats/food in his dish. This way Percy should associate the puppy with some yummies, Alos place the second place the second piece of cloth with Percy`s scent on, (Neck area) And place it under the puppy`s food dish too. They may then become best friends. Paws xd.Last edited: 2020-06-26 16:55:47 - 2020-06-25 09:42 Unknown
