"**** FOUND****Thank you for joining our page the help we received from people is unbelievable. We are happy in a way I cant described to have him back!!!
This morning at 7.30 I received a call from a man who seen maxi walk near elgol but couldn't catch him. Half an hour later a lovely lady called saying maxi was in her kitchen proceeding to move on to snuggle.up on the sofa. There is no words for the relief we feel.
He is back with us now and except for some cuts on his paws doing fine. He has a vet check booked later on.
Thank you all again. This is the best morning."Last edited: 2020-07-03 13:52:15 - 2020-07-03 10:07 Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland

- ** MORNING UPDATE FROM WILLIAM - THURSDAY 2/7 08:00 **
"**STILL MISSING** Day 3: My dog Max ran off after a deer at 12:30pm on the 30 June on the east slope of Coire nan Laogh on the ascent to Marsco on Skye. He is wearing a leather collar with my mob: 07584674318. Please can you be vigilant if driving between Sligachan and Broadford in case he has made it to the road.
I am meeting with volunteers shortly at Sligachan to scour the rocky outcrops of the northeast Marsco slope where he disappeared one more time, just to be sure that he is not stuck there.
It would be great to have people keeping an eye on the fence line and hillsides from Sligachan to Broadford. Parked up in laybys watching or walking the along the deer fence would be great.
It would also be helpful to have people continue to walk the Glen Brittle and Camasunary paths to/from Sligachan looking.
Max will likely be timid now and I have been told he become more nocturnal. So if seen please don't shout for him. Rather watch patiently first of all and see if he approaches you first. Try offering food if you have any and calling him gently if you think he might not have seen you.
The support we have had from drone pilots, walkers and people offering advice is just incredible. I can't thank you enough just now I am desperate to find him. Let's get him home.
Please let me know immediately if have any news on his whereabouts."Last edited: 2020-07-02 11:24:57 by GeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland - 2020-07-02 09:12 GeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland
- Thanks Louise, however as 158046 had been sighted several times last few days in the area found (Oxfordshire) it will not be Maxi who went missing on Skye in Scotland on 30 June.

- ** UPDATE AND PLANS FOR THURSDAY **
https://www.facebook.com/michele.siebke/posts/10157269235435736
"*UPDATE* STILL MISSING
WE WILL UPDATE THIS POST TWICE DAILY.
PLEASE COMMENT ON HERE IF YOU CAN HELP RATHER THAN MESSANGER AS ITS EASIER TO CONNECT ALL THE HELP. I am not on skye but coordinating all volunteer action
IF YOU SEE HIM CALL 07470128542
PLAN FOR TOMORROW BELOW
THE GOAL IS TO SIGHT MAXI.
IF YOU SEE HIM CONTACT ME DO NOT APPROACH BUT KEEP HIM IN SIGHT (he will be in survival mode by now and likely run away from strangers)
Max is still missing. Rachel and Will are currently searching and waiting in the area of his potential sighting.
Thankyou so much to everyone near and far who helped. Your kindness and support has been incredible. Tomorrow we need a big push, all throughout the day/evening. We have to find him tomorrow, this is unbearable!
Plan for tomorrow.
*volunteers meet Will at Sligachan carpark 8am. From there we will split into groups. Some to stay low level and cover the main path, we need as many people as possible on it at all different times of the day. If Max has been in shock and hiding tomorrow he will be slower and hungry enough to come out. Anyone who feels fit enough please go with Will to the site where he went missing (at around 500/600 mtrs) and we will research.
* I will be back at the site of his potential sighting at head of Loch Ainort from 6am tomorrow. I will sit here incase Max has formed a routine and will revisit here tomorrow around 8am. I will then meet Wills group and we will research the area he went missing.
*others ways to help, please keep sharing posts. Thankyou for all so far
*if you know anyone anywhere on Skye please make them aware.
*anyone with lost dog knowledge please contact me incase we are making mistakes /missing something Tracey?
Useful info:
*there is good phone signal Sligachan to Mascro River but not great from Elgol end of Path to Mascro.
*It is extremely wet, we will be soaked tomorrow.
*Spare clothes and shoes essential. Also useful to bring binoculars if you have
*Bring a lead/food for Max as he can be shy.
Thank you so much. The support and help has been incredible. Tomorrow we need to do a big push to find him. Come home Maxi!
Maxi is lost up in skye. Please all share if you are in hiking or drone groups that might be able to help. Been lost 30h now. Will is searching him without success so far. They were up marsco on skye. Ran of in direction of arrow. Thanks
10.30pm still no sign of him. Due to darkness have to stop for the night but will be back out at 6am. Anyone please keep an eye out for him. Who ever is free to hike the area tomorrow please do/ join us"Last edited: 2020-07-02 12:18:34 - 2020-07-01 17:38 GeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland
- ** POTENTIAL SIGHTING **
https://www.facebook.com/rachel.bliss.52/posts/10157111742126455
"Potential sighting of Max along deer fence at head of Loch Ainort this AM. Area to cover deer fence all the way in direction heading to Broadford and in opposite direction towards sligachan. Heading there now, call us on 07849931251 if see anything or can help.
We have searched the hill, fairly confident he's on the move. Also just walking the sligachan path would be great as he may now be over the side.
Also can anyone please share this post for me on lost dog scotland pages and local skye pages." - 2020-07-01 15:21 Sandra Watt

Latest update from owner this morning:
"**STILL MISSING** My dog Max ran off after a deer yesterday afternoon (30 June) on the east slope of Coire nan Laogh on the ascent to Marsco on Skye. He is wearing a leather collar with my mob: 07584674318. Please can you be vigilant if driving along Loch Ainort/Sligachan in case he has made it to the road.
I have searched all yesterday afternoon and into the early hours with a thermal camera focusing on the east slopes of Marsco.
I cannot give up. Search continues shortly heading back up to Marsco and the immediate area where he disappeared. Some kind people have offered to join me. I will thank everyone in due course but for the time being focus is on covering ground.
If anyone is out walking on Skye today please please be on the look out. Additionally if anyone would like to assist, it would be great to get some eyes on the lower tracks. I can't thank those have helped and offered help enough at this stage.
Please let me know immediately if have any news on his whereabouts."
I will add link & poster image to exiting posts on DogLost Highlands & Islands, Drone SAR for Lost Dogs UK, owners' posts and local groups where I can.Last edited: 2020-07-01 10:01:11 by GeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland
