- Good news about mum and lurcher :)
Postering is critical now, to reach people not regularly on the internet/social media/local social media groups. Half of all sightings come via posters.
Gina's sent you a link for Tractive trackers, but also consider Findster -
https://getfindster.com/
Your doggos wear a transmitter, you have a receiver, which sends the coordinates to a phone app via bluetooth. Good for places with poor phone signal. Range from 0.8km in cities to 16km in open countryside.
All trackers communicate with GPS satellites to get the longitude/latitude.
Both offer a free trial period. - 2020-08-05 08:08 Trehearne

- If she knows her way home or her home is within 5 miles, then many dogs will return home if they're not scared by people they encounter. This commonly occurs during the early hours of the morning. To cover this possibility, hang out unwashed clothes from the people she likes best to create a scent trail to guide her home. Allow access to the garden and place her bedding on the ground for comfort, along with food and water.
