Hello everyone This has been such a dreadful time for all of us, and finding hard to believe this happened. Both me and mum want to send a very very big thank you to all involved in the search for this little fella. It has been such a long week! We hope Marcus will be ok in doggy heaven and have extra special treats come christmas. The words in the poem are so lovely   Take care all you kind people who have helped Mandy and JoyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm Spring weather. The old frail animals are young again. They play all day with each other. There is only one thing missing, they are not with their special person who loved them so much on Earth.
Each day they all run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears rise up! The eyes are staring! Then suddenly, this one runs from the group! You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her into your arms and you both embrace. Your face is licked again and again and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separate

Beardie collie rescue comes to our aid yet again.  What a great bunch of people.  Brilliant idea about a bitch on heat - will keep that in my head.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Glad you now have the traps ok. Hope you get marcus back very soon. This happened to a beardie about 3 years ago at services on his way to his new home he jumped out the back of the car. We did get him back but it took awhile we did a rota with many beardie folk and had lots of help. We also got a bitch in season in the area and this seem to work well. So if anyone out there have a bitch or know of one in season it would be worth trying. Goodluck.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I know someone with traps in that area who should be able to help, just calling Reynard to let her know.  Good luck, I hope the cheeky little boy can be lured in with some nice smelly food and a blanket!  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oh! dear Markus was sighted the X owner stayed up there all night but he would not come to her ...she has had to go now.
We need a trap (making enquires) but it needs to be monitered, new owner not there at the moment. Police and Highways Agency are looking out for him.

Oh poor little thing, must be so confused.  I suggest you put food down regularly where last see, he will stay around if he knows food is about. . Also, why not walk the other poodle in the area, that may just lure him out.

Spancoluki thanks so much for your help..I dont know the wooded area but I guess it is the trees planted for the service station.
Markus has been sighted and owner has been sat out there all day..trouble is he knows  no one and will not respond to anyone..I think at the moment he is enjoying his freedom. If the owner can not catch him to-night Markus sister will be brought there maybe tomorrow perhaps he will respond to her..lets hope so.Too many people calling him will only scare him off I think the owner needs to gain his trust...so help is needed in case he does a runner accross the feilds otherwise I just hope the owner can catch him herself.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello Mandy Lou.  Hope you find your little boy again soon.  I got this email from a friend today: "There aren't any wooded areas round the service station.  On one side there is what used to be a runway in the war and on the other side open fields.  Really puzzling.
Am running off a few posters now and will drop some down into Lambourn, Baydon and Chilton Foliat on my way home as they are the villages closest to Membury.  Have also forwarded details on to a friend in Hungerford to put out.
Poor boy, must be so confused.  Wonder if his previous owner might have more luck in getting him to respond as he would recognise her voice more than those of his new owners. " Hope this helps.

Poor little boy I hope he's found very soon.  I've sent his poster to a friend who breeds black/white poodles in E Anglia and she may know people who can look out for him.  Keep safe till you are found Markus. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dear All out there Could you please help us to try and find our lovely Markus. We only got him on Monday along with sister and whilst calling into Membury Services, M4 East Bound near Swindon Monday evening on the way home for a quick stop Markus broke free from his collar and took flight. We tried desparate attemps to catch him but he ran into the bushes. We have contacted the RSPCA, local police, local dog wardens, vets, local radio and papers. If anyone knows of other places we could try we would be interest.  It look us almost a year to get another dog after loosing our old Poodle last christmas. Seeing these together we just couldnt split them, we are so desparate to get him back him to complete our family, so we we appreciated anyones help. If anyone knows of where he is or who may have him please contact the us or doglost Thanks again Amanda and JoyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just got a photo as I called owner, owners daughter is helping out...Markus slipped his collar at Membury Service Station ...it was dark and raining... he ran towards motorway but doubled back and headed off in to the countryside and a wood Lambourne way. Owners also picked up another poodle that was brought up with Markus at the same time, thankfully stayed in the car at the time !   So fab helpers please send the poster of Markus out to DW Rescues Pounds this is Riding Hunting Country so Yards, Hunts, Country Side Alliance, Gamekeepers  in the area. also this is on the M4 corridor so Markus could have been picked up by a passing motorist so could potentially be anywhere so a big push on posters is needed.... dispaly a poster in your car so all can see .GOOD LUCK.x   Markus has already been on BBC radio!    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
