Milly's owner found her at 11:30pm last night after a 5 hour search in the wind and rain.
Milly obviously knew the game was up when the DogLost poster was issued 😉

If lost on a walk more than 5 miles from home or if you drove there, unfortunately you do have to stay at the lost point, or the car park overnight, because many dogs will return if they're not scared by people they encounter. This commonly occurs either within 6 hours, or during the early hours of the morning. Without leading the dog into danger, scent trails can be created by walking out and back to the vehicle in a starburst pattern. They know the sound of their vehicle, so start the engine periodically. If you can’t stay then leave unwashed clothing from the person she's most bonded with, food and water and her bedding for comfort and return as often as possible.

If walked to the lost point or home is within 5 miles, then in addition, unwashed clothes need to be hung out at home create a scent trail to guide them home. Allow access to the garden and place their bedding on the ground for comfort, along with food and water. Create a scent trail by walking back to home.
