Oh Dolly where are you my baby girl, I hope that you are not feeling as sad as me and that you are not missing home as much as I think you are, I hope that you are warm and safe and well and that you are not with any puppies as this thought is unbearable for me, I will forever look for you and will never forget you I love you far to much x x x x x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sue  That is brilliant of Angus to do that, thankyou very much. Posters have gone out to the vets in Rubery now also x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oh I thought the church was in Redditch. Deb if you put the Rubery postcode in Find Any UK Vet on the home page it will give you all the vets in the area you can give a poster toso that if a similar dog comes in they?ll know to scan. I know the phone calls are horrible but just put the receiver down Deb and don?t give them the satisfaction of knowing that they?ve upset you. Unfortunately some people have very sad, useless lives and nothing better to do than to do nasty, hurtful things like this. They?re morons and it's a wonder they have enough intelligence to pick a phone up and dial a number!! Our co-ordinator Angus is attending a big breed show this weekend in Coventry. There will be people from lots of different areas and she's going to display Dolly's poster in case anyone recognises her.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sue Ok I will start keeping in touch again with the DW etc. Rubery the place where the church was, was really busy, lots of shops, and lots of people, We put up a poster by the church, one by the bus stop. We asked the PDSA to put one in there window and also 2 petshops we came across too. We had a call late last night from a prankster saying that they had found her but unfortunaltely she was stuck to there back tyre, I was so upset that was the first call like that i hope people can be so hurtful. Tommorow I will resend the posters to people I need to again ie Redditch Police Station, Dolly would have gone past her season now, so is likely to be a pregnant stray dog, so I will do alll the vets again too xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I really hope it was too Deb!! I would advise to keep in touch with everyone on a regular basis just to let them know she?s still missing and to still look out for her. You could check that they still have a poster with her photo on and if not send another. I think if places have been notified of a missing dog and then don't hear anymore after a while they assume the dog is found and throw the poster away. This is why I think it's important to keep in touch with everyone. Deb, don?t rely on people going through records over the phone. One person?s description of a dog can be completely different to another person?s. If Redditch Police Station have now told you that they do take in strays go down there with a poster and ask for it to be passed around everyone who has been on shift when dogs have been taken in. What sort of area is the church in? Is it residential or more rural? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Deb
Hi Sue The lady that called us said that the dog they saw was a little white jack russell that looked like the dog she had seen on our posters. I really hope it was Sue. We have put some posters up outside the church and around the area on lamp posts, FINGERS CROSSED. I havnt been in touch with the DW lately the last time we spoke she said she hadnt seen any thing of Dolly, should I call her again, Im not sure as to what to ask her, and what they should be doing by helping. What do you think? DebLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
B30
Deb did they get a good enough look at the dog they were trying to catch and think it might have been Dolly? Where exactly is the Church? Do you know the first part of the postcode so that I can look at it on the satellite map? What sort of area is it in, residential or more rural? Have you got posters up in the area? Can you go in person to Redditch PS with a photo of Dolly. People are not always very good with descriptions of dogs but more likely to remember from a photo. Are you still in touch with the DW regularly? Dolly has her chip but we all know that some don't scan.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Deb
Sue just had a call from a lady that had seen one of my posters, that i put up way back in November, we regulary walk there to check our posters are still up and readable and always thought that we would never ever get a call from one of them  the power of posters, we havnt yet found Dolly but this lady said that the night before Christmas eve they were trying to catch a little Jack Russell behind there church, this is about 5 miles from me, she advised me to call Redditch Police Station (i called these when she first went missing and they told me that they do not take in stray dogs) i called today and a nice lady said that they do take in stray dogs and she went through there records, no dolly but loads of other dogs had been taken in, Im starting to think that Dolly has in some way gone through the system of the dog warden already x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If the e/role is going to be difficult Deb forget it for now at least and concentrate on posters and notifying as many people as possible. Dolly is so unusually marked that I feel sure she would be recognised if just the right person sees a poster.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Deb it's understandable that you feel down. You?ve worked so hard to find Dolly with no results. I know that you?ve done a lot but still follow things up, like all the places you?ve contacted so far. Keeping busy will help keep you positive. As you?ve covered the Bromsgrove area well you might want to think about moving the search a bit further afield. If you get a map and draw about a ten mile diameter circle from where she went missing then you can clearly see all the areas in that vicinity. If you?ve already covered all the towns and villages in that area then extend your circle and do the next lot. That way you are broadening your search in every direction. If you put the area in Google and get the postcode you can use Find Any Vet UK on the web site to locate all the vets. Lots of villages and towns have their own web page too and you can advertise on some. Don?t forget to keep checking Birmingham Dogs Home as it was on the news again last night how full they are. I had a quick look on the web too for info about the electoral role but all I could see was to look up a particular name. I hope the council can help you more.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Deb
Electorial role, I have looked on the Internet to see how you go about purchasing it and how much theres nothing i can find, will try the council on the 2nd Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I hope so Sue, It seems to be get more painful as the time goes on, Today we have been around the Blue Cross and Birmingham Dogs Home, what a place that is! BUT no Dolly. More posters have gone out also today, we have placed them in all dog walking areas we can think of, have put some up at the railway station by us, and have driven around the area for hours looking for her. Posters have been sent to all Dog Wardens too. Please come home dolly dog we love you x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Unfortunately after lots of campaigning Deb lots of places don't scan like they should. Just remember that Dolly has very distinctive markings and if she has a poster in the vets waiting room then they would be blind not to notice her if she came into the surgery.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Deb
I am horrified. I met a lady through the ad I put into my Local Newspaper who has been helping me (god bless her) to call around everywhere again, keep peoples memories fresh she called my vets where I take Dolly this morning and they told her that they cannot Scan every Jack Russell that goes in, it would upset the customers! I have jst called them again to verify this and even though Dolly has her picture up in the waiting room she said that it might help but they still cant scan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Would it be possible/safe to leave your gate ajar overnight in case she's trying to get back home herself? If the sighting was last week you'd hope that there would have been more reports of seeing her but the fact that the park is familiar to her is good and also that her scent will already be there.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have you had a good look around the park Deb to see if you can spot any places she might hide out?  You could leave some of her bedding with her scent on or something with your scent on in a quiet place then if she's around it will be familiar to her and might make her stay around the area. Is this the park that she knows? Hope you got the info I sent. Have you had the chance to check out Highways, Railtrack etc?  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
