What a shame no one has come on here and told the full story: Briefly, Charlie ended up playing with the traffic, a very kind man stopped and rugby tackled her to the ground (!!), took her to the vets who had a poster. She was very subdued and traumatised but she has a lovely new life ahead of her and now that her new owners are aware of her escaping talents they will be extra careful. Thanks to everyone who helped XXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Great that the breeder will help. Having someone there that she knows might make all the difference. Glad all my info arrived Carol. We did say last night that she might look for shelter around the farm. Hope it's not long before she's back with her family. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Wiccaweys
Update from Carol just received: "Nancy has now contacted the breeder, he does not have a photo, but is coming up to Whaley Bridge tomorrow to help in the search, as he is most upset about what has happened. Nancy has phoned me again tonight to let me know that the farmer's wife phoned to say that Charlie was sighted in their field again as it was getting dark. She would not go to them, but they say that she can get into their barn, and there is also a shelter in the actual field where they saw her, they thing she will probably go in one or the other tonight. However, they will keep their eyes open when it gets light, and Nancy, her husband and the breeder will go to the farm as soon as he arrives in the morning, he said he would get to them by 9. So lets hope she stays around the farm, at least she will not get run over there.   Sue fron Doglost telephoned me this evening, and also emailed me lots of info about tracing lost dogs etc and details of how to register and get a poster sorted, so if they do not manage to get Charlie in the morning and she has left the farm  I will get the poster sorted."

Wiccaweys
Charlie is Blue Roan Cocker Spaniel, but looks more charcoal than blue, she is 5 years old, and had her last litter of pups 3months ago. A friend of a Wiccaweys volunteer got her from the breeder yesterday, they do not have a photo.  Charlie is wearing a bright blue new collar, but is not known to be microchipped. She has no ID disc either as they only ordered one yesterday after getting her. Charlie escaped from their garden in Whaley Bridge (SK23) this morning, and has been sighted by several people in the area, but runs away when approached. The last sighting was at the local farm just off Whaley Lane.  When the Farmer approached her Charlie ran off up the fields.  If she kept going she could be heading for the Cheshire border, possibly Pott Shrigley/ Lyme Handley area.   Charlie is probably very frightened, as until now, as far as is  known, she has only been used for breeding purposes. The local Vet, Dog Warden, nearby kennels, pet shop and Police have been notified. Nancy the new owner is reluctant to contact the Breeder, but I have told Carol (Wiccaweys volunteer) to encourage her to contact them as soon as possible in case Charlie is trying to head back there.   If they are a decent person they would want to know!    Carol is helping Nancy as much as possible and can be used as a contact point.   Her email address is: CarolLett07@aol.com  and her mobile number is: 07739 570441.    Wiccs can also be used as a contact point:  07905 203254.   Come home Charlie.  SarahLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
