Was not able to see dog warden as he was in a meeting and will not be available until after the New Year. Photos were taken in to him and it is definately Bubbles who is missing and will be very, very frightened. Story should have gone in the Wisbech paper today but I could not get a copy.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It may be best if we did not post on this thread any more for now, in order that the announcement stays visible at the top. Thanks.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

BUBBLES - who we dont know is missing or not yet. Half Staffy - bitch - almost Staffy size, but slighter in build. Not at all stocky. White with brindle ears and has about an inch of brindle around her eyes. She has a black spoldged marking on her nose. - Full tail, which is more hairy than a Staffs - not microchipped - slipped collar - IS SPAYED - 3and half years old. Dog wardens are assisting. Press release has been issued by them. Hopefully Bubbles has already been picked up, but can not really do anything else on this now until tomorrow. It will also not be until later in the day. Will update as and when.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

PLEASE STOP WORK ON MILIIE. Nightmare for the owner, but basically she has four dogs, and she has had a call from the council to say its not Millie who is missing but another of her dogs called Bubbles. Totaly different type of dog. ! Dog Wardens are obvoiusly on the case and trying to sort this out. May have come about by the posters we have been sending out. Dont know any more than that. Tomorrow one of the Dog wardens are meeting owner and I have suggested she insist on being taken to the kennels to actually see for herself which dogs are there and which are not !  I will not switch Millie to reunited now, until tomorrow when we find out for definite. Hopefully this other dog named Bubbles has been picked up already. Again, in the same boat I'm afraid, and dont have a photo available right now. Have got a full description of the other dog and will make up a new page for her later this evening but run out of time now. The dog they now say is missing is a bitch called Bubbles. description to follow.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Ashmark for your help. Am currently working through the rescues at the mo. Tejaycey Kennels will have to have a poster sent via snail mail unless owner can visit. Have given her the address. Am currently trying to get hold of an email addie that works for them though.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just re-read all the posts and am astonished to hear the dog warden did not inform the owner that Millie was missing untill several days later. I really hope they are helping with the search after all she was in their care.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The e-mails I sent to Cox Lane Kennels have bounced back. I have had a reply from Wood Green and she does not appear to be there but they would like more details, she is logged as reference L536, phone number is 08701 904090 ect 0 for dog reception. It would help if they could speak directly to mab. I have sent them a photo of Millie.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so very sorry to read that Millie is missing. Dorothy has been a fantastic helper for DL and has walked miles leafletting for other PE dogs so if anyone is in those areas please help her. I will keep a look out in the Cambs area - wish I was nearer. Fingers crossed for Millie's safe return very soon. FLYLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry meant to say re- the photos, I chose the head shot of Millie for the poster as I really feel that to advertise her with the photo as she was as a tiny puppy, may well mis lead people, and she may slip through the net. To be honest we have found dogs using much worse photos and it does show her face, expression, head shape and colouring quite well. Pounds and rescue centres will always understand that the photo colour may be not quite right when matching dogs to photos, and will make allowances for that.   Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi mab, glad you could get on here, so I presume you picked up your poster email and other information and contact numbers ok. Millie will find somewhere to shelter if she is still out there, but  someone may have picked her up, which is why you need the help of the local newspapers, radio and posters. She has no ID on her so someone finding her could think she has been abandoned and take her in without reporting her. Unfortunately this does happen, but it may not in this case, and she could end up in a pound or rescue centre, which is why I gave you all the numbers. Anything at all that sounds remotely similar, you will need to visit in person to make sure it is or is not her as she may get re-homed. I know its very difficult for you, but only really you, can make a proper identification, especially as she is a cross breed. If she is still loose, she will also find food and water, even if she lives on animal droppings etc. Dogs have been known to survive under their own steam for months. They also sometimes find shelter in outhouses, barns and stables, or will nest in warm woodland undergrowth. She will use her survival instincts. If there is anyone at all that you can call on amongst family or friends to get posters out there, this is the way to get her home, and hopefully someone will eventually spot her and give you the call you want.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A4 Poster and flyers done and emailed to owner. Use the flyers for hand outs and for posting through doors. I do hope they bring Millie home. Good Luck x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Two photos now uploaded. The one in the second window, and not showing on the poster is how Millie was as a tiny puppy. Owner has been advised now, and I am emailing contact numbers and information sheets to her this evening. She will then pick her emails up at the libary tomorrow. If there is anyone in the area who could spend just a little time postering the area, Millie's owner would be so very very grateful. Little Millie needs to be home before her owner has to move house again, and this time it will be quite a distance. Bless her, Millie is so lovely. Stay safe little poppet, your Mum said you are a very clever girl. x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Millie went from North Brink, Wisbech. Apparently the dog warden followed her for 3/4hrs until dark, but don't know which direction. I was only told yesterday that she was missing.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The council have given her another place this morning so she has given me her address to send contact info. Are ther any local helpers who could help with postering?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello Mab. I have filled in as much information about Millie as I can. Is she microchipped? Does she have a collar and tag on? Would it be possible to send a photograph of her so that we know what sort of dog we're looking out for? You can load it yourself onto Millie's page or email it to admin@doglost.co.uk If you have problems with either of these please let us know and if you can send a mobile phone photo someone will give you a number.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I could not get the drop downs to work. Millie is a little terrier about large cat size with roughish grey brindle coat and full tail.  She was in the council care as they made me homeless and was taken to Wisbech where she wriggled free and ran off. We live in Peterborough so she is far from home. Please look out for her. She is so lovely.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
