- Hi all, a MASSIVE thank you for all your support and endless time. She was found this morning on a gravel pit right by the fields she went missing in. She is absolutely exhausted and had a big big drink and something to eat before sleeping. She was so excited to see my Sister and Dad and licked and licked them. Once again, a big thank you!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Thanks Barney 'n' Ozzie's Mum for posting on Tallies page, I must have been working on the posters when you posted, they are now done as requested by Co-ordinator Angus earlier. In work so have to do them during lunch time. A4 poster and smaller ones emailed to Angus and South Co-ordinators, hope they help in the search for lovely Tallie and we see her in the BLUE soon. Good luck. If anyone is able to help with the postering the above posters can be emailed to you. Thanks. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Admin - is it still possible to get smaller posters made up (i.e 4 to an A4 size sheet of paper) so that they can be handed out at shopping centre or put through letter boxes?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Hi, thanks Alison - My mum put food down this morning at 7am and we all went back tonight and put more food down. My Mum and Dad are going there tomorrow at 7am again. We all feel very down and disheartened, but I had a very encouraging e-mail from CJ (Jane) which lifted our spirits.
Thanks you for your support.

- Hi Holli. Did your mum have any luck today? I will hopefully see you at work tomorrow and see if we can come up with some more ideas if Tallie hasn't been caught by then. Alison xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- HOLLI - Tallie will probably be very frightened and shouting/calling her may not be the best way to catch her. It's not unusual for dogs to run away from their owners or people they know really well when they are in this situation. If you sight her try to use food to get her to come nearer to you. Keep yourself turned away from her maybe let her see you throw some food in her direction and then walk away. Rather than you moving towards her you need to get her to come to you.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Thank you so much Alison! I've just got back now from another three hours shouting and calling - my friend took me round every park, rubbish dump, side road, golf course ... no sign of her. I talked to lots of people and returned to the train station.
My friend suggested that perhaps she walked up from Furze Platt train station to Maidenhead Train Station as she was seen on Fri at Furze Platt and yesterday in Braywick Road, which is the road that Maidenhead Train Station comes out on. - One theory. My Mum is out at 7am tomorrow morning going to where she went missing and into the town centre. I am hoping that shopkeepers might see her tomorrow if she has been hiding in their yards or doorways.
Thanks for your support

- Just come back home from driving around Cookham, Furze Platt area. No sign of Tallie I'm afraid. Spoke to 2 ladies walking a golden cocker just around corner from leisure centre on A4. They had seen posters of Tallie and are keeping an eye out for her. They walk their dog on Cookham Moor and said most of the dog walkers she knows are looking out for her. Apparently found dogs are sometimes taken to The Pines vet clinic or Summerleaze. They also confirmed that the nearest rescue centre is Battersea at Old Windsor.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Thank You all so much! All the dog owners around Maidenhead are very supportive and are spreading the word like wildfire. We have also hung another 40 posters tonight. I've just been out for the last 3 hours looking.
My friend is picking me up shortly who has lived in the area for 26 years and has some good ideas about some spots where its lit, but away from traffic and has potential for food so he is collecting me at 9.30pm tonight to take me round to whistle and shout.
Thank you for your support

- Spoke to owner yesterday morning, Have e mailed a friend by Boulters Lock and my sister in law lives in the road she went missing so will be telling everyone around. Postering is going to be the key and with the calls coming in that seems to be working. Good luck. I have been told that the DW is very helpful so maybe tomorrow she/he will assist.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Holli, thank you for registering - if you can get out just before it gets dark then this is a good time to go, make sure that if you do see her to call her very gently, crouch down at her level or even lay down and wimper! it does work with very scared dogs. Are you going to have your sisters mobile phone while she has the baby or do we need to add another number? I strongly recommend that you take her phone as it is on the posters already. Good luck in your searchLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Hi, thanks for advice all!! I am Lai_Hope's sister Holli. I have been out again today. Had a phone call from a woman saying that she thought she saw Tallie last night on Braywick Road heading towards Safferton Roundabout.
Been out looking, shouting and whistling. Have returned home and plan to go out again tonight as I think she will be most likely to be hiding now and hopefully will feel the urge to wander tonight so she can be found! We are all devastated, but not giving up hope!

- ***Update*** Having followed the fantastic advice about plotting and scenting we managed to plot the triangle last night before dark. Food was laid and more posters and flyers were handed out/stuck up. I don't think there is anywhere left in the area we haven't covered! Back out again at dawn this morning and our efforts have been rewarded with 2 more possible sightings. (There can't be that many black and white cocker spaniels running away from people in this area). 1. Cookham train station - within the triangle 2. Braywick Road leading to Stafferton Way - right outside the triangle but close to my house. We are out again this pm with my dogs looking in the new area and will definately be on the floor, whimpering etc anything to get her back if we see her. Sadly, yes, Cushie was my mother in law's dog that was stolen this time last year from Bourne End. Tallie is my mother's dog and thanks to the circumstances being so different this search has given us a lot more hope as we have had so many calls from walkers in the area. I am actually 9 months pregnant and going into Wexham Park for a c-section tomorrow (Monday) but have asked my sister to register so she can keep the hunt alive online. Thank you everyone for your advice and support. As hard as going through this all over again is, having so much help in every form does make it easier. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Just a thought (and I know it's going to sound daft - but it's apparently worked for others on this site) as she is so nervous, when you next see her try lying on the ground and whimpering - it might just get her curiousity and make her come close enough to get hold of! Make sure you've got some really smelly food to entice her with too - pilchards or something equally as smelly. If she's anything like my cocker Barney she'll be tempted to come to you for tyhe food.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Hello Lai hope. Your name seems very familiar - wasn't your friend/relation's border terrier Cushie stolen from outside a shop in Bourne End about a year ago? I live on the Loudwater/Penn border but can easily get to Cookham if you need any help. Make sure you let all the local vets know about Tallie as well as Stokenchurch Dog Rescue. (I work at same place as Hollie). Good luck! Alison xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Thank you for the text messages. Tallie was on a walk on the track in Lightfoot Lane in Cookham, Bucks yesterday at 3pm when she was chased by a black lab x. Her walker followed but she ran off in the direction of Furze Platt/Maidenhead and hasn't been seen since. Tallie is extremely nervous around strangers and dogs. If approached she is more likely to run scared. We have contacted the dog warden, Battersea Dogs Home Old Windsor, our vets in Maidenhead and are now leafletting in the area thanks to the help of a large team of volunteers who have been generous enough to give up their Saturday to try and find her. Please keep your fingers crossed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
