OK have been out again today and covered the roads surrounding the park and then drove into wroughton as the main road backs onto this area.  We've pretty much covered all areas from Liden to Covingham and Wroughton with no sightings.  I did bump into a friend of mine who walks her dog twice daily on the green where she originally bolted, she confirms that she has not sighted a dog like her in the area and no other dog walkers have mentioned her either.  She has my email and I see her at the swimming club regularly so she will keep me informed if she turns up.
Meanwhile, unless she's sighted there's little else I can do.  I know Aly well as have worked with her over the years, in fact the first time I met her was helping her catch the lurcher that is currently on my sofa! If you speak to her tell her Di from EGLR will help, she has my number.

No I'm not, just can't have a lost one out in the cold so near to me and do nothing!
Hubby & daughter did 2.5 hours out with our dogs today & I drove round the area and checked out Covingham Park on they way home from work this evening, no sign as yet.  Will go out again tomorrow.  Will try and ring the number given & give them my mobile number in case there's any update.  We're off until Monday now so have time to get to work on this one.

Great, I'll go that way home this evening - assuming it's not freezing fog and I can see something & go back out in the daylight tomorrow.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Fantastic work Henry’s mum.Where she actualy ran off from was
St, Pauls Drive ...off that road in Gilling Way...but she was seen in Covingham park and the Business Village as she ran off in those direction’s.
Owner called me to-day after just getting back from the Christmas break and has been down again and has talked to many walkers and will be putting up more posters.
Often a dog will run as scared then hide and eventualy seek out people...also she will probably eventualy go back to the point she ran off...Gillian Drive!
She may also go walk about looking for a way ’home’ so we must widen the search by putting posters up futher a field.
Thanks for all the help.x

We have just spent about 1.5 hours looking for this little one.  We started at the Liden end of Dorcan and walked through the industrial estate, covering the derilict S.E.B offices and through the cycle path to the rear of Dorcan School then following the brook all the way.  We thoroughly checked the brook (bracken & darkness allowing) with a torch and no sign.  Walked back along Dorcan Way.  We spoke to a couple of other dog walkers whilst out & they are also keeping an eye out.
Would appreciate a road name of where she went missing so that we can pinpoint the area more accurately.

I hope you find her. I guessed it was probably a longshot. But would not have forgiven myself if I hadn't mentioned it. Good Luck.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks rosegarden I would say NOT same dog...I have no way of knowing but I would say there is no need for a little dog to travel or be picked up and dumped (of course you never say never) this is a very nice area and a dog such as a Border would live very well I think, there is also some nice houses ...so I think once she is over being scared either the DW or a local will pick her up, fingers and paws crossed.
I have been out there again to-day and  put more posters up (the new owner had put some very nice laminated posters along the foot paths) and lots of people and dog walkers about.
I will try to get over again before going back to work and I know the Dog Warden is also on the case.
Not heard from owner yet have left a message so might still be away.

Hi, don't know if this would be the same dog or not, but on my way to work spotted a dog laying by the side of the road (ok not harmed), I turned round and went to approach it. It looked to me like a border terrier, rough coated, it ran off when I approached it. Looked quite healthy. The area is  Bracknell, Berks. Peacock Lane RG12 (the new housing estate). It was first spotted laying on the grass by the Peacock Farm Pub. Then ran off into the housing estate. I had another drive round but could not see it. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You get there by going to Dorcan rounabout turn left towards Dorcan Business Village go right to the end and it is a dead end road with lots of small units behind them there is a small wooded and scrub coverd land and a culvert with water behind that there are houses i guess she ran from thereTHANKS.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

She was described as a Border Terrier Jack Russell Cross...although she does look more like a Ginger Border not too small, apparently .....there are no actual photos of her!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The new owner had just had her an 1/2 hour, whilst visiting a friend in Dorcan she ran off from the car...she was sighted at Dorcan industrial estate by owner but she was to scared to come.
This little dog was taken in by someone else and the new owner had just picked her up so no one knows anything about her.
The owner is a way on Wed and back new years eve so a friend (lynn) will take calls 01793641355 & the dog warden on 01793466068
The owner has contacted the bussiness in Dorcan and they are looking out for her.
The owner will put food down where sighted untill WED.
If anyone can put up some posters please and look out for this poor little girl that would be great . THANKS.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
