I'm so very sorry this lovely old boy did not make it home.  I have been thinking of him and his family and we send our deepest condolences, and know that he will always be with you.  Keep his picture by your bedside and always try to be happy for him if you can. xxx

I'm so sorry to hear this.
What a dog though to survive all that time outside in the cold, rain and snow at his age.  It's such a shame that he didn't make it quite long enough. 
Well done to the taxi driver who picked him up and let him spend his last moments in peace and warmth and with dignity.
My sympathy to King's owners.  Remember the many happy years you had with your special boy.

As heartbreaking as this is for Kings’ owners. Some dogs seem to know that their time is near and wander off. It must be to spare their owners the pain. Kings’ owners, what you must remember is that with your love and care he lived for 20 years. Quite exceptional. When the pain eases, you will be able to draw on many many happy memories. So, so sorry that dear old King never got home.  At least you know that someone was with him when he passed over.  Have fun at the Bridge 'Dear King', you must have been a very special dog to reach the grand old age of 20.  Thoughts are with King's family at this time, at least you know what happened to him.  Take Care Julie

I am so very sorry to read that King is now at Rainbow Bridge.  The tears came to my eyes and are still running down my cheeks.  My heart goes out to his family.  Sleep peacefully now King. x

It is with a very sad heart that I have to tell you dear King is at Rainbow Bridge. King was taken to the PDSA but he had a stroke. Thank you to the kind person who picked him up and took him to a safe place where someone could hold him and tell him what a good boy he was while he closed his eyes for the last time. King's family would like to say thank you for all the support they've received during this very difficult time. God bless you King XX

The lady who called in after seeing the posters says her husband a taxi driver picked the dog up as it was wandering in circles on the Hucknall road 1/2 blind so sounds like the same dog..lets hope so.

I do hope this is King.  Every day I have looked at this site to see if there is any news of King.  All the dogs who are missing should be back home with the ones who love them, but at 20 years old your heart goes out to King and his family.  Fingers well and truely crossed.

knock on peoples doors i am sure they wont mind when they know how old he is !!! check all streets near by see if someone could help you and knock on a few streets nearby ! he might not of gone far ! ! check all gardens and bushes as might of curled up ! check and check again ! anyone that is not in put poster through door !!! email all vets !! around your area x x please come home soon x x poster parks near by ! when you take him on a walk check the route !!! hope u do come home soon x stay safe x

Poor King he must be very confused out there.  You need to contact Dog Wardens and Council rehoming kennels straight away in case he's been taken in.  Also to get posters up, as many as poss to make people aware and inform all local vets.  Good luck, I do hope he is safely home very soon. x

Gracious me, what a tremendous age for a dog, our old pointer has just passed over at 15 years old, I thought that was a good age, but 20!!!  I wish you all the luck in the world finding 'King' and hope that he is home in time for Christmas.  Kind Regards Julie
