Here is the account from Dog SOS Derbyshire: On 31st December 2020 Floki managed to escaped home. Possibly spooked by fireworks be went on the run.
He was seen at Pentrich, Buckland Hollow and other places but most worringly on the A38.
Many reports were received by Derbyshire police and their patrol teams kept a close eye out for him and on a couple of occasions herded him safely off and into fields. After a few days Floki seemed to settle in Swanick. Our call to ignore went out locally and a feeding station and trap went down.
He fed well but didn't enter the trap properly as he was very jumpy. We even located his poss sleeping area.
Unfortunately after 3 days he was spooked by something and left his safe area.
We followed his route to Denby.
Today 8/1/21 two young children saw Floki and tempted him into their school grounds and he was safely contained by staff
A huge thank you to Ella and Theo Bailey (permission granted to use names.)
You are little stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐.
And thank you to the staff.
Flokis time out in freezing temperatures is over.
We would like to say a huge thank you to:
The residents of Swanick for taking on our plea to ignore him.
Also
Derbyshire Police Constabulary,
Everyone who called or sent in sightings,
Ali SB,
Dominique Woolland,
Kelcey Elliott,
Sharon Mcandrew and Gail Severn for being part of our team on the ground and
The Staff of Ellie and Theo Bailey's school.
Floki will see a vet as a precaution but Floki your adventure is over
WELCOME HOME AND STAY SAFE.
