Wait to find out more but it seems Humphrey was probably clipped or hit by a car and there was nothing that could be done.

Touched that a couple picked him up today and took him to the vet and grateful for all the comments and advice from different people.

i have forwarded maps of sightings by James he was sorry he couldnt catch him he was heading towards Maiden Bradley but couldve hopped into fields

TONIGHT AT 22:15 I was coming through the the Maiden Bradley heading towards Frome and there was a black dog on the loose. I would have said he/she was a black lab.
I nearly took the petrified pup out! I couldn't find him or her after looking and there was already a car following. Unfortunately there was no more we could do, maybe the dog crossed some fields. I spoke to the farmer at the nearest farm house and he didn't know any other farms or have any neighbours that had a black dog."

are you a member of the Maiden Bradley village news group there was a sighting late that evening 1stJanby James Smith i have messsaged him to ask which farm he called in to

I'm helping my Dad, he's spread the word to neighbours and local farms etc, I've rung a few other local places, this is up and running (thanks!) and we will keep doing local trips to keep an eye out etc.

He's very friendly and does recall albeit he isn't always perfect...

have you rung round farms in your area to keep a look out its a vast area to cover is he good on recall and friendly with people and other dogs ?
are you in a village location with neighbours or out on your own ?

He went from home after being let out to do his business etc, quite late that evening.

Location details are more specific now. We've been out looking, no sightings yet.

He went off from home near Maiden Bradley, in between MB and Mere, close to Norton Ferris. Any eyes out are much appreciated.
