found dog 34633 possibility ?
Teddys Mum - Area Volunteer, West London
I sent a text last night and had a reply at 0530 this morning. Saying "thanks for the info". Maybe they are away on holiday and that is why nothing has been posted here today or on the found page. I do hope they check it out, such a similarity. It would be wonderful to see him reunited...

I sent a text to Timbers owners 2 days ago re possible match to found GSD on "site" but so far no reply - perhaps they are on holiday or it wasn't Timber but it would be nice to know either way.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Fingers, toes everything crossed.   On NPR it does say long coated but if they can't get close, it could still be timber with a winter bedraggled coat. c'mon timber get yourself home  xx  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, Does this mean timber may still be in the Beenham area? I keep my horses in that area so will keep an eye out for him. Which part of Beenham is he missing from? ClareLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am just about to leave to look around the sighting area & put more food down but as he's running scared I really don't know how he will be caught. I will also put up an update on the posters and to ask the householder near by to try to contain the dog in their garden if possible also to continue with the sightings which are a great help as to where the dog is & at what time etc.  What else can be done. Myself, Heidipie & the lady who originated the info on the dog running loose are in constant contact with each other but we need more helpers.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoken to the Dog Warden (15mins after last sighting) and was told that the warden had already spent several hours trying to catch this dog a few days ago but without success and now needs the co-operation of the householders who's properties this dog is venturing into to try to contain it either in their gardens or shed or the likes. He is more likely to return to the same spot if being fed so if anyone can help in it's capture it would be very much appreciated other wise this poor dog will be living wild for ever! Please Help!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just got back from putting more posters outside  Deanfield School, there is also one near to the new houses near to the school & the riding stables now have one.  All the dog walkers seem to be aware of the GSD now. I left some sardines at the same place where he was spotted yesterday - the tuna I left yesterday had been eaten but that could have been a lucky cat. I hope it's just a matter of time now until he is caught- finger crossed! Have the people who have called with sightings noticed if he is wearing a collar?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

LYDNSYD well done & thank you for all the postering & info on Timber. It looks like this could very well be him.If he is a little nervous it is best to keep to a very softly softly approach to keep him in the area.Food left in the same place every day can start to build up a routine. When a dog has been out like this for a while they can be reluctant to come to anyone & are easily spooked.  I have spoken to the person who logged Timber on our site & they are going to try & get down there tomorrow morning. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It would appear that this dog is sticking to the perimiter of Sulham Woods which is close to houses and a school.   There are lots of places for a dog to hide & shelter there. I've postered all the entrances to the woods & while doing the Dark Lane entrance a lady who lives in one of the David Wilson houses which looks out onto the entrance said that this dog comes into her garden to check out the bird food during the mornings so now that she knows it's  roaming loose she will be more vigilant. I've also heard that the people who live in the old cottage near to the entrance have been feeding the dog but it's too scared to catch. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

More sightings coming in now that the posters are up. Sighted this morning on the lane and this afternoon in the grounds of Deanfield school. Many dog walkers have spotted him in these area. They seem to think it is the one in the posters.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

CorbiereB, sorry to see lovely Timber is missing, can you confirm the circumstances has he gone missing from the home or on a walk?  Thanks for registering and adding his details on DL, we will do all we can to help you in your search.   Great you have supplied a photo.  You need to poster poster poster the area as much as possible, we cannot stress enough the importance of the postering.  Posters can be printed by selecting Dog Poster 1 just above Dog Information (you must be logged in).    Contact DW's, rescues, vets and leave a poster (you can find vets in the area by clicking on the logo right hand side just underneath Latest Missing photo).  Dogs can be rehomed after 7 days, try and visit rescues do not rely on phone calls alone.   Please update us on who has been contacted i.e. DW's etc and if you have started postering.  You can leave a comment by selecting  Add a comment  just above Comments.  Good luck and hope he is found soon.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
