We have arrested two men and recovered a dog, tools and a van all believed to have been stolen.

The arrests came after a member of the public called us on Wednesday February 6 to report two men in a van behaving suspiciously in Thornbury and abandoning a dog.

The dog, a cocker spaniel, was found to have been stolen from Thornbury earlier the same day.

The van was later found by police abandoned just off the A38 in Rudgeway. Officers believe the van had been stolen from London and it contained tools stolen from Thornbury earlier the same day. Two men aged 26 and 32 were arrested later the same day in connection with the thefts and remain in police custody today, Thursday February 7.

Thornbury Neighbourhood Sergeant Victoria Lansdown said: "We are very grateful to the member of the public who called us after becoming suspicious of the behaviour of two men in a van. I'd always say that if you are in any doubt give us a shout."

Hiya, This is probably nothing but yesterday afternoon in Dewsbury town centre i saw someone walking a blue roan cocker spaniel very much like Lollypop. Its tail looked quite close docked. What struck me is it (couldnt tell whether m/f) looked like it was wearing 4 black boots. Dewsbury is a long way of from where she is missing but its been a while now hasnt it? so she could be anywhere. I was stopped in a que of traffic & we tried to get a pic but we werent close enough. The lady with the dog walked towards the dog grooming shop but didnt go in just walked past. A lot of blue roan cockers look very similar i know but if i didnt mention it i would never forgive myself if it had been her. Good Luck. PA.

Sadly, am afraid the dog people saw in Cardiff outside PAH was actually my own cocker Ruby (recently lost her eyes through glaucoma) who I take with me fundraising for Four Paws - one of our trustees just emailed me to tell me. At least people are keeping an eye out. Good luck with the search

Why rent or buy a megaphone ( hand held loudspeaker ) and stand in a busy place and let everyone know that your dog is missing.  Hand out missing posters at the same time.  By doing this it may also bring more media attention to your plight.

If the Stratford on Avon dog isn't her, wondered if it could possibly be Bonnee (7035 - black cocker spaniel stolen from outside HMV in Southampton by a "rough looking man" back in 2007? Do we have a description of the 2 men seen with this dog?

Would Brian be able to put a cage in the garden with some of her bedding and toys, treats etc and leave it like we did to find Sky. I know we have talked about such ideas but this sounds like a more realistic sighting than the stratford dog. Fingers crossed from me and grant that this is lolly and she will be safe at home soon.

Come on Lolly, if this IS you, show yourself again so we can get you home. Is the area of the sighting built up? Just wondered if she could be holed up somewhere quiet or even in someone's garden? Maybe the man would be prepared to put some nice smelly food down to entice her back. Blitzing the area with posters would also get more people looking out for her.

There was a possible sighting of Lolly last night at Bulkington Weston Hall. A man phoned to say he had just had a Cocker Spaniel in his yard. She looked under nourished and when he tried to coax her she ran off under the gate.

Its the start of the caravan and camping season why not email all the sites with a poster.  The best site to look at for current sites in the Stratford upon Avon area is uk.campsite.co.uk.  Lots of campers are dog owners and dog lovers.

Sighting of a dog fitting Lollypop's description in Stratford-upon-Avon area. Dog seen with two men outside one of the toilets (presumably by the river front in the town), tied up with blue sting. If Lolly was picked up by a canal boat she could well be in this area. If there are any helpers in the area please can you keep a look out for anyone with a similar dog and for dogs that are with homeless people.

Sue the Coventry canal that runs through Bedworth has a lot of narrow boats passing through and it might be worth Brian handing out posters to some of them because Lollypop may have been taken on board by someone thinking she has been abandoned. Was down there yesterday but no sign of her I'm afraid.

There is a found blue roan cocker spaniel on Alfies Lost Dogs. In the Spaniel found part. Found 30 January. Its now at St Giles Kennels Somerset. Nu is 01823 490333. It shows a pic but doesnt say whether its male/female. PA.

It was just a thought but I was at Dobbies yesterday and it occured to me that if Lollypop was following the canal she could have got this far and there are several dog kennels within that area. It might be a good idea if you haven't already to contact the boarding kennels in that area; you may also be able to ask at Dobbies if a poster could be put up. We are still hoping you get her back home; safe and soon.

You may already be doing it but, Muns logged all sightings on google earth and this enable us to see a pattern when looking for Bubbles in East Anglia, also allows you to zoom in and see what type of area she is keeping to. Good Luck hope she's home soon.

My son has been out looking for Lollipop but no luck. He said if you go to Marston lane bridge and follow the canal to the left it takes you all the way to Hilltop. Just before you get to Hilltop there is a static caravan park where a lot of pensioners live and that is just the sort of place that Lollipop could be getting fed so would be worth putting posters up around there.

Had a long chat with Lolly?s owner tonight and sent over lots of info on plotting the sightings and scenting. Looking at the map she could be covering a considerable distance but some of the sightings have been very close to home. There are loads of posters up so hopefully some more sightings will come in soon. Stay safe Lolly XX

Sighting of Lollypop yesterday at Hill Top Nuneaton. Owner was out until 4.00 this morning. Please can others in the area keep a look out for Lollypop and let owner know straight away if you see her.

Lollypop was mistakenly locked out of the house during an emergency. There have been sightings of her in Smarts Road, Cross Keys Pub, Bedworth Park the last sighting was about 7 to 10 days ago at Shaws canal Bridge. She has also been in the local paper
