Hi Pam
No still nothing of Kato.. the infuriating thing is there have been no sightings of him. Was talking to my dad last night and he said we are all baffled as there no sign of him
Even the bus posters are not generating any information. and dad is still postering where the ones that he put up have gone from and is in daily contact with the dog warden and kennels. People who know my dad and the dogs are even checking in on  a daily basis to see if they can help search for him. the Gypsies are checking when ever they see dad too.. My dad keeps eye on their horses when he is out with the dogs so they have a mutual respect for each other. One of them seen a dog similar to Kato getting picked up by the dog warden so shot round to my dads to tell him but was not him was a female. and she is back with her owners now. But deep down i just wish it could have been Kato and all this was over now.He has been missing now 10 days with no sightings no nothing It is getting a bit harder every day for my dad to keep possitive. but like he said he won't give in till he knows where Kato is or what has happened to him.
i keep checking on here to see if anyone has found him every couple of hours i am logging on here and other doggie places online.
please keep possitive thoughts coming we need them
cheers

hi everyone.. just thought i would let you all know we still have no news on Kato.. We are growing more and more concerned because its soo cold and all main roads wehere he went missing Dad is still postering and checking the area for Kato. We have had radio tabloid and postering done to help us find him or get information as to anything happening to him but still nothing. even posters up on bus's are not bringing anything at the moment. We are feeling rather deflated at the moment. but we are still hoping but it is getting harder as the days are going on.

Nikki thanks for the updates ! You are all certainly doing plenty to find Kato and its so disappointing you have not had any sghtings or news of him yet ! Please encourage your Dad to keep up with postering  as someone may have taken him in and not even thought about having him checked for a chip . Fingers crossed for some news of this obviously much loved boy very soon xxx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everyone thought would update what is happening to find Kato.
My dad went up to the kennels yesterday Kato has not been handed in/found
He left a recent picture of Kato (thankfully i like taking pictures on xmas.) he has also given one to the dog warden in the town. I have had two local radio stations put a plea out for kato to come home safely.. i have also emailed the local paper to put a missing ad in for me hoping that runs tonight will have to wait and see. but my sis is going to the local bus station to see if we can put few posters on a few bus's So fingers crossed we can and the best result comes out and Kato comes home..
cheers

Hi. Yeah dad has left his coat he goes walking normally in at the area Kato went missing.. he has also left his blanket from his bed around the fencing at the other end of the field that he went missing from. Dad and others have checked every building that has anywhere Kato could hide also postered every building door way they had access to and the ones they didn't dad has gone to during the day to leave a poster with them. Dad and others have walked ever inch of the area double checking privets fences and hide aways for Kato. they are walking hours every night on the search with sticks to poke through area's they can not see throuh properly. to the point they came face to face with a fox dad said they jumped cos they did not expect it. kato is a long legged terrier but pretty small if you understand that..
Dad is going to the kennels again today with another picture of Kato in hand to give to them due to the fact one persons discription of a do rearly matches anothers so better safe than sorry. have been in contact with the dog warden every afternoon adn will continue to do so until we get him back. We are growing even more concerned with the freezing weather and Kato's age and build we are worried he won't cope if no one has picked him up.

Nikki I wonder if Kato could have got through a hole or gap in a fence and into the trading estate and then been trapped there somehow? Has your father checked out if all the premises are being used at the moment ? Also how big is Kato ? From his photo I thought he looked to be a larger type of terrier cross but looking at his details his build is described as 'small'. If he is small enough is it possible he has gone down a hole where he was walking? Has your Father left anything with either his or Katos scent on it near to where he went missing in case Kato returns to the area. ? Even though you are too far away to help your Dad phsically search for Kato you are doing a grand job passing advice etc on to him and giving him moral support. Please tell him to keep up with the postering and checking with dog wardens and stray kennels. I do so hope Kato is found very soon xxx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Pam sorry should have said. My dad was walking Kato with his other 3 dogs on a trading estate field. Kato was with the others walking back to the car when dad turned for him to sit to get in car he was gone.all the others were still with my dad just Kato had disapeared. there are no houses sheds ect in the area its all fences and privets. dad has postered the area and my sister has chatted to her bosses as she works on the trading estate and they have informed the security guard if he see's Kato to coerce him into the security office and phone my dad. sis has even been to dads and gotten Kato's favorite food and bickies. I am in blackpool my dad is in middlesbrough i am doing all i can from here while dad is searching with sis and nephew. Just getting concerned with it being soo cold (Kato is 15) and does not like the cold wet weather (like all of us i supose)

Nikki thanks for the update and I am so sorry you have had no word yet of lovely Kato. Do keep up with the postering as posters do bring a lot of dogs back home. The more you can do the more the aware people will be that he is missing. Exactly what were the circumstances in which he went missing ? Did he just wander off from home, disappear from the garden or go missing on a walk ? Are you sure he is not trapped anywhere at all in a shed or outbuildings or even trapped in a neighbours garden ? Do try going door to door to door locally asking if anyone has seen him and show them his poster. Come home soon Kato xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi thought i should update people on what is happening. Dad has printed posters and put them in area he was last seen. 1 in back of his car and contacted police and dog warden. we have both contacted local pounds and no one has seen him or nothing. Dad is doing the searching still but not turned up anything. Even security guards of the local industrial estate are on alert for him to but at the moment we have nothing to go on. Its heartbreaking how he can just seem to vanish off the face of the earth without a sign anywhere.
Keeping fingers firmly crossed something comes up sometime soon and he is safely back home where he belongs

So sorry to see that Kato has gone missing. Nikki when you contact your dog wardens tomorrow make sure you find out the names of ALL the stray kennels they take dogs to. If you can visit them in person to make sure Kato is not there and keep checking back as often as possible as by law they only have to keep dogs for 7 days. Although Kato is microchipped  you CANNOT rely on this alone to get him back as the chip sometimes does not get picked up  when a dog is scanned. Also make sure Katos home contact details are up to date with the chipping company and inform them he is missing. I hope Kato is home again with you very soon xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner, sorry to see Kato is missing.  Thanks for registering his details on DL, we will do all we can to help you in your search.   Great you have uploaded photo/s.  You need to poster poster poster the area as much as possible, we cannot stress enougth the importance of postering.  Posters can be printed by selecting Dog Poster 1 just above Dog Information (you must be  logged in).  Contact DW's, rescues, vets and leave a poster (you can find vets in the area by clicking on the logo right hand side just underneath Latest Missing photo).  Dogs can be rehomed after 7 days, try and visit rescues do not rely on phone calls alone.   Ensure you contact the CHIP Co and report him missing and that your contact details are up to date. Please update on who has been contacted, DW's etc and if you have started postering.   You can leave a comment by selecting  Add a comment  just above Comments.  Good luck and hope he is found soon.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
