Thanks Springerlover2 - I also work as a receptionist at a vets - snap.  That is how I came to have him, the finder dropped him into us and rather than him go off with the warden, I took him home.  The vets who are listed to have chipped him have looked through their records to no avail but they said they don't put chip numbers on the computer !!  We certainly do, as do you guys. ThanksLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I work as a receptionist in a vets,It would take a while but you can search your client base by breed then locate microchip number from patient screen, thats assuming the vet in question uses computers!!!!!! Have the finders been into the vets themselves, bit of a long shot but as i have a thing about springers i always remember the ones that visit, speak to the nurses also as they help and also give microchips as well . Best of LuckLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have checked the main alternative sites but nothing as a match as yet. Perhaps the general free ads /local papers  might be where this one advertised. There are lots of people who dont know of the websites and even some without internet access. I will have a look through these types. I can't believe this one hasnt been reunited yetLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

my dog even has a x marks the spot on a diagram of a dog so they can check it against her keepsake number on her collar. Things do get mislaid but it should have been send immediatley to the appropriate centre. Hope this little one is soon claimed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am aware the sytem has changed now but in the past Lowestoft Police station had a good reputaton for lost dogs and even had kennels at their station. It may be worth asking if anyone has reported this dog missing to them. Failing that Meadow Green would be where they are taken and an owner may have reported their missing dog there. Have these places been contacted?

MicrochipMe
I am a microchipper and do not understand how the vet has mislaid the paperwork.  The microchip should be registered immediately that it has been implanted, either online or by post.  Surely this is just bad management by the vet to have 'mislaid' the paperwork.  Someone somewhere is missing their dog and may not even know of the DogLost website. The problem is that microchips do not get allocated in any particular order but surely records are meant to be kept by whoever implants the chip, then the owner gets a copy and whoever the database is with. OWNERS PLEASE BE AWARE IT IS NOT YOUR JOB TO SEND OFF THE REGISTRATION DETAILS, THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE PAYING THE IMPLANTER TO DO.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Im not sure sure what other sites have been checked. present update is that the dog is being held under the 28 day rule. Although there is a microchip and they have managed to trace the vet where the chip was implanted the vets hold no records . Any paper work seems to have been mislaid in a move of premises and it would appear they did not send any documents on after they did the chip. The finders have now come to a blank wall in tracing the correct owners so im sure any help would be appreciated. Im sure someone of such a lovely dog would want to find them but we cannot seem to find them!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yewfinder are you also checking other lost dog sites too?. If so, it saves me duplicating,  If not, then I will happily do that also and let you know of any others I come across.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Furlover Thanks for giving me the list of lost Springers on the DL website. I have go through them all and our one is not a match to Twig(16103), Eddie (13082), or Herby (16102) colouring wise.  George (13052) and Archie (11375) are too old.  The only one I can't be certain about is 10430.  I have requested a photo to make sure.  Our dog was chipped but it wasn't registered so that might make a difference. Thanks for your help.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
