- Silly me..... I was so excited that P was back home that I didn't read the posting properly.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- P wasn't the dog in Cornwall - he was closer to home than that when he was reunited. The dog in Cornwall was a similar dog but JK meant that it amazing how the doggy bush telegraph works - even from Herts to Cornwall!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- I'm really pleased to see that P is in the blue. Welcome home P. What a distance to have travelled - well done the person that spotted him in Cornwall. I have been travelling around with P's poster in the back of my car since he had been missing and it is surprising (and encouraging) how many people noticed it and asked me about him. - BEST NEWS! Our dog has been recovered, yesterday evening. Naturally we are ecstatic. He seems in pretty good shape, a bit thinner and very tired. A huge thank you to everyone who has shown concern, advised us, spread the word, given moral support and above all told us to have hope. This whole experience is something we had never considered. Please, please, please all take extra care of your dogs - It has become abundantly clear that dog theft is rife and growing. The power of the dog owning community, websites and email generally has staggered us - on Thursday I had a call about a sighting of a similar dog with a red collar seen in Penzance Cornwall. We think having the Tattoo certainly helped. Probably we will have him Chipped as well. Hopefully we will never have to go through anything similar again - Thanks again everyone and Dogslost.co.uk. - Its great that the posters are getting around thanks to everyone - lots of questions asked so will respond more tomorrow. He was I am afraid definitely stolen - no question of doubt - from a locked dog run with 2m high fence. Someone may have just wanted him to earn some money or thought he was more than just a pet enjoying his own space for a few hours. So please take extra care everyone. Appreciate everyone spreading the word and for your help advice and kind words.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Two missing from the same area? Do you have any travellers in your area at the moment? - If so it might be an idea to contact your local council's traveller liasion person. (I know not ALL travellers are bad - but after finding this website approx 2 years ago, I've found that there does seem to be a "trend").Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- The owners have made a poster with the dog's photo etc. I have copied it and have been around the area postering today, If anyone can help with posters please ask and I will email you a copy. we really need to go further afield - North London, Bedfordshire areas etc so if you can help with a poster in your area please let me know. Many thanks!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Have you tried local radio? If you go to www.hertbeat.com and click on news and then scroll down, you can contact them with a news item. They always seem to be interested in local news and may even be able to add it to their website. Anything will help. Have you contacted Wood Green Animal Shelter at Heydon (I think they are predominantly cats there, but they may be willing to put a poster up) and what about Heathlands Animal Rescue near Royston.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- What publicity works? I am contacting local papers on Monday for this weeks edition, most neighbours know and we have used this website, also vets etc but is there something obvious I have missed? JLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- You are welcome, I'm an NDTR tattooist & dogs I have tattooed that have been lost/stolen etc have been quickly returned because the publicity re the tattoo has made the dog way to hot to sell on
Hope he comes home safely

- Hi. I an really sorry to hear about P. I live in the same village as the owners of this little dog. I am available to help with postering or anything else which may be of use. My mobile number is 07980 567148. Make lots of posters and put them up everywhere. Phone all local vets, dog warden and try to get P in next week's Hertfordshire Mercury.
