Thank you will never suffice but thank you so so so much to everyone who has helped with this horrendous situation. We could never have caught her without this amazing website, Devon Lost Dogs, those who have shared the numerous posts, the incredible management and residents of Thatches Holiday Park (Chris, Liz, the Johnsons and everyone else! 😍), the eagled eyed local community, and Farmer Roger (and his family) of West Leigh Farm ❀️❀️❀️.

Absolutely the best message received this morning, "We've got her." along with a photo of her in the car.
Poppy's owners have worked so hard and their patience has paid off for them. 😍

We had exact same thing when patch the lurcher went missing in Bristol you will figure out what she’s doing places she’s using.patch ran and ran but using the same route every day for a week. Patch eventually ended up in the trap. I say do not give out exact location only to a few who are proper rescuers. Thankfully the farmer is helping poppy will eventually trapped l. So much patience is needed I learnt so much with patch DONT CHASE . Good luck you will get poppy back eventually

PLEASE DO NOT CHASE.
Seen earlier running on a road. Land owner managed to get Poppy into a field but cars had pulled up and people with leads seen chasing her. This will have frightened her.
Call all sightings to owner, do not attempt to catch.

Thanks, Geoff. We have her items outside the lodge and a worn t shirt of mine in the Woodland Walk where she crossed the stream into the fields. She should be able to pick up our scent around the field and trap cage too as we have been there multiple times today (where we have seen her). I will be going out at first light tomorrow to see if she's been caught/search for her. The upside to her being hungry/possibly thirsty is she will be low on energy so perhaps easier to corner/catch

AThompson - there are several water courses in the area - I am sure she will have found some to drink and some shade from the sun:

Do try a bbq on the northern edge of the holiday park if allowed to do so - the smell may tempt Poppy. Leave a scenting item outside your lodge tonight also.

She's been spotted in the same field again this evening but, again, she ran off. It's incredibly frustrating because we know where she is but there's no way my partner and I can cover the field to corner her. Given the temperature, and the fact she may not have drank now for days, I fear she will be found dead

Fingers crossed this beautiful girl is found safe and soon. xxx

Update: Poppy was last seen this morning at 11am on one of the fields owned by West Leigh Farm. The farmer is aware and has set an incentive trap cage to catch her. Hopefully she takes the bait as she hasn't ate/drank properly since Friday night. Thank you again, everyone.

Poppy does not know the area but is staying close. No searching needed as this could cause her to move further away but please call the poster numbers with any sightings.

AThompson - could you ask the owner of the farm if you could leave a scenting item in a quiet place nearby (something you or person most bonded with Poppy has worn or slept on recently (unwashed), along with some water and a few treats. This may help her settlle there (leave your contact number with the owner so that he can ring you if he sees her again. Also ask if he has any barns or outbuildings containing stacked hay or stray bales that Poppy might have got stuck behind/betewen if she has chased a small furry into one.
A bbq with strong smelling food at the holiday park might also attract her back to you.Last edited: 2021-07-25 10:45:07 by GeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland
