I have just had the FANTASTIC news that Sandy is home !!! He was spotted sitting by the side of the A1 watching the traffic and the owners were alerted. They raced over there and Sandy got back on to nearby fields and after a merry dance he  was eventually cornered in a garden centre. He has cut paws and has been to the vets who says he also  has  a  temperature which he  has put him on antibiotics for. When I spoke to his new owners he was resting after his ordeal and will soon be meeting his new lady friend ......... a  Chow Chow his new owners  already own and who he didnt get to meet properly before breaking down the fence and escaping. hopefully he will settle down with his new family and have a happy life in a forever home that he so deserves. welcome home Sandy and stay safe from now on xxx Pam Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Has Sandy just left prev owners or rescue? Is it possible to get item of clothing or something that he would recognise smell of?? As he is new to area & doesnt recognise where he is, old owners may be able to provide assistance even if they cannot drive to area. It's far too cold for any dog to be out at the minute- hope Sandy is back soon.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Is it posible that this fellow might try to return to his previius home. All local vets, dog wardens and rescue centres could be contacted to get a wide spread of information out. He must be very confused and may not want to get near to people. Anyone out looking for him may need to bear this in mind. Thinking of this little lad and his new owers.  RachelLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sandy has been SIGHTED ! on the day he went missing he was sighted around teatime near a haulage yard. Then again yesterday, Sunday 1st,  he was sighted at the same garden near a haulage yard but he was scared by another dog and ran off. He had taken  some food left out for him . Later  in the day around 1.30 pm  he was spotted several times in woods about a mile away where he was disturbed by men out shooting. Food and a trap were left out for him last night back at the garden near the haulage works but it had not been touched this morning. The woods are privately owned but the owner of the woods is allowing Sandys owner to search for him. This boy had only just arrived at his new home an hour before he battered down the fence to escape. He must be feeling very confused and probably wanting to find his last owners. He does not know the area he is in AT ALL nor of course has he had the time to become familiar with is new owners. So he will be very nervous. Owners are going to start postering today but have already made sure as many people as possible are aware. Hoping he is found soon and will be able to start a secure and  happy life with his new owners xx Pam      Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner, sorry to see Sandy is missing.  Thanks for registering his details on DL, we will do all we can to help you in your search.  Great you have supplied a lovely photo of him.  You need to poster poster poster the area as much as possible, we cannot stress enough the importance of the postering.  Posters can be printed by selecting Dog Poster 1 just above Dog Information (you must be registered and logged in).    Contact DW's, rescues, vets and leave a poster (you can find vets in the area by clicking on the logo right hand side just underneath Latest Missing photo).  Dogs can be rehomed after 7 days, try and visit rescues do not rely on phone calls alone.   Please update us on who has been contacted i.e. DW's etc and if you have started postering.  You can leave a comment by selecting  Add a comment  just above Comments.  Good luck and hope he is found soon.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
