Ok I'm a bit confused here. Firstly I am glad Milly is safe but I thought she was a sighted dog and there wasn't a known owner looking for her. Is there an owner and is Milly actually reunited with them or just caught and safe? If the latter I hope you are able to link her up with an owner somewhere. Well done in getting her safe though xx

Update Thursday lunchtime

"Milly" has been seen on our camera eating at her 2 feeding stations since yesterday and is returning to them quite expectantly!

She has also befriended a local cat named Monroe as the 2 were seen drinking from a stream together โค๏ธ

We are super lucky to have an experienced trapper coming today from LDRS with traps and camera equipment to ensure she is safely caught. This is the most stress free way of getting her to safety.

It could be a long wait until she is comfortable with going into the trap, or it could be a short one.. One thing we know is that if she is given food by other people she will be unlikely to choose to want the food in the trap!

PLEASE PLEASE DON'T FEED HER.. NO MATTER HOW CUTE SHE LOOKS ๐Ÿ‘€ OR HOW MANY TIMES SHE PASSES YOUR WINDOW! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ˜…

We have more kind volunteers there today leafletting and postering again to make sure that everyone who bumps into her is fully aware beforehand NOT TO APPROACH and NOT TO CALL we will continue to spread the word right up until she is safe.

Please keep fingers and toes crossed that all goes to plan ๐Ÿคž

Thank you Team Milly for being amazing โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿถ

Spread the message... NOT TO FEED! NOT TO CHASE ๐ŸšทAND NOT TO CALL HER โš ๏ธ...

Update Monday lunchtime

This dog now has her own facebook page: www.facebook.com/groups/dontchasemillhilly

So far there is no owner looking for this dog, so we have given her the name "mill-hilly" or "Milly"

She was sighted just once yesterday, which is what we hoped for. It suggests she has calmed down somewhat and has begun settling in the area which she has been seen previously.

Our mission is to get as many nearby residents aware so that if they do see her/discover her in their garden or on their walk that they already know NOT TO CHASE ๐ŸšทAND NOT TO CALL HER โš ๏ธ...

Some people will question, "why aren't you going to catch her now!?" chasing a dog will create the risk of her running onto the a1/M1 or leaving the area entirely...

... Providing her with what she needs- food, water and protecting her by asking no one to disturb her will keep her off the roads and in a calmer state of mind until we have worked out the lowest risk way of getting her to safety.

Her story is posted all over local social media, this doesn't mean that the next person that bumps into "Mill-hilly" will NOT necessarily know about her yet, and natural instinct usually tells us to chase a dog without an owner.. The race is now on to eliminate the chances of this happening ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ™

Are you able help distribute leaflets or put up posters? Or print the below poster for us? ๐Ÿ™

Are you a local business that can share her poster with your clients or be happy to have a poster in your shop front or on your till/inside your taxi/bus/milk van/delivery van? ๐Ÿ™

Any local newspapers/radio station contacts that could share her story to spread awareness? ๐Ÿ™

IF SEEN PLEASE DON'T CHASE, CALL OR TRY AND CATCH THIS DOG! There is an experienced team on hand who will be able to safely capture her and can get to the location quickly. The situation is being carefully monitored by this team. It's really important they are not startled as they will run towards very dangerous high speed roads. If people could share this message to the local area please it would be really helpful and may save her life xLast edited: 2021-08-16 16:45:37 by thedogfinder

This dog is still loose in Mill Hill & has disappeared. Please could the public alert the numbers on the poster if she is seen again? She may have recently had puppies. Please don’t chase, call her or try and catch her as she will bolt again. Thank you allLast edited: 2021-08-14 14:25:46 by thedogfinder

The two ladies can’t stay with the dog any more, they have children left at home alone, they’ve phoned the dog warden who won’t come, they have the dog in sight in a small close , a safeish spot. They’ve pleaded for more help
I’ve messaged local dog Lost co ordinators and the Police , they’ve also phoned Police but we can’t get any support. This may be a different dog to one seen earlier today - it’s possible that two black & white spaniels are loose in same area as earlier one was thought to be shorter and more chunky - this one looks skinnierLast edited: 2021-08-14 12:43:30 by thedogfinder
