So pleased he's home.  I just came into the site to print out a poster.
Pam, I'll find out which cafe that is and clock it for future reference.  Our campaign Manager lives on Haworth Main St and I'm sure she'd be happy to drop off posters when needed.

LOl. Thankyou for all you'r comments. usually i will just put west yorkshire. so was rather confused at the northy bits. but will now keep it in mind for further refrence! I was rung from this site last night, which promted my very very tierd partner to get out of bed and come put posters up. and this morning weve had a call. reportadly at marina kennels in oakenshaw. I am so gratefull for all the help and advice the site has been able  to give me. and im actually over the moon because been 7 months pregnant i couldnt really search the fields with him or stop crying when ever i looked out the window! you really have been s much help. Thankyou all so much :) off to pick him up in about an hour :) Linzi, Rich and Sumo x

many thanks to all for your help and comments ! I agree it is confusing and seems such a vast area but can I just clarify this site includes Bradford as NORTH EAST. The North East region covers from Doncaster, Sheffield , Yorkshire, Sunderland , Newcastle etc up to the borders of Scotland. Catty Sara we visited Haworth last weekend and  there is a cafe in the main street that welcomes dogs. If you get a chance could you see if they are willing to put a poster in their window too ?  Vikki FOA  I am not sure if you yourself can actually 'copy' the photo from the site and then enlarge it or try enlarging it from the poster by clicking on 'dog poster' above Sumos details. We'll display a poster in our office (Haworth).  Incidentally, as Bradford is East of the Peninnes it would be classed as North East in the absence of a region called "Yorkshire".  The alternative would be central or south-east, both of which are much more misleading.

At the risk of being pedantic - I live 24 miles EAST of Bradford and I still wouldn't class where I am as North East. Most people who live in Bradford wouldn't class it as North East - people logging on here will see the postcode, however people not from the area are posting this on forums as "Dog missing, North East" - which implies Newcastle-ish area. Is it possible to get larger versions of the photos? I can pass them around a few more Akita people in the area x

Have spoken to owner tonight Sumo used the built up snow as a form of "steps" and escaped from garden. It's the first time he's escaped. There are fields to the back where there are dog walkers so suggested postering around there and handing out posters to them Owner has registered Sumo with the dog warden and contacted the chip company He is chipped but when owner rang chip co. it transpired he isnt registered .  They are putting posters up in the area have give them details of the kennels in the area to contact and suggested they check in person if possible. Hope this gorgeous boy is home asap xxx he's a beauty

I've posted this on the FOA forum, as far as I know there is an Akita X at Marina (owners are aware), and possibly a full male. They sometimes also get taken to Oakenshaw kennels, in the Wakefield area. I would class Bradford as the North West though??

He looks gorgeous. If you haven't already, then contact the dog warden and the microchip company, local vets. Poster as much as possible and try and speak to as many people as possible locally. Someone may have seen him or taken him in. Need to let as many people know as possible. Speak to the local postman and taxi firms. Keep checking with the dog warden as details can get mislaid. I think the council still use Marina kennels in Huddersfield and Fleet kennels for strays found, but check with the council dog warden. Also contact the kennels direct.
