- I'm so sorry to hear that your gorgeous Paddy didn't make it home - poor lad. Sadly, as many of us know on this site, railways hold such fascination for our dogs but also wanted to say thank you to the caring railway worker who realised how important his task was to tell Paddy's owners. My thoughts are with his owners at this sad time. Rest in peace Paddy - sweet dreams lovely boy...x

- I'm so sorry to hear that Paddy didn't make it. I spoke to his owner when he went missing the first time around last year and, through her hard work and perseverance she managed to get him back that time. So sorry that wasn't to be the case this time. R.I.P darling Paddy xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Poor Paddy. This is very, very sad.
We made that obligatory call to the railway to alert them when our GSD Spice went missing. We hoped and prayed that we would not get the phone call back with bad news, as you have. I am so sorry for you.
At least you know what has happened to him. We so far do not have closure on our loss. It is terrible that it has ended this way for you. My heart goes out to you and yours.

- We had a flurry of activity over the weekend after 2 calls to owners re a RTA on the A34, but sadly owners had a call yesterday from a railway worker who had found the body of a white shepherd on the line just a mile or so from his home. Owners have had the body scanned this afternoon for a chip and sadly it was Paddy. Owners are devasted that this is their boy, but were full of praise for the rail worker who called them with the news, at least they are able to say goodbye to their beautiful boy. I am so sorry that Paddy didn't make it home, he was adored by his family and will be sorely missed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- I thought I recognised the photos!! I expect they've had quite a covering of snow up there, so that might make it easier to track him. Come on Paddy, it's far too cold for you to be out and about - get yourself back home in the warm xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- just had a text from owners - response to their postering a sighting of Paddy yesterday early afternoon in the fields behind their farm, owners have been out looking all afternoon as yet Paddy has evaded them, I have suggested a BBQ with garlic sausages to try and draw him in and scenting the area witha safe spot for him. At least this means that he has escaped rather than being stolen as we first feared, hopeful that we may get some more sightings as people venture out again in the morning.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- I have spoken with owners this morning, Paddy went from a secure garden area in a rural location, there is no obvious sign that he has escaped, I have advised owners to get a crime refernece number incase he has been stolen, they have contacted local dogwardens and are out postering now for Paddy. Owners know the drill as he went missing in 2007 and was found after 4 or 5 days, they have a business with drivers in the local area so all lorrys are carrying posters and farmers are aware locally. Paddy shy's away from traffic so hopefully if he is on walkabout he will keep himself away from the roads. I am sending owners details of local rescues including a few that have turned up other recent missing dogs.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
