- The cat and dog shelter on Claremont Road has been there a long time. It seems odd they don't have the right procedures, surely the frst thing is to reunite and second to rehome. One of my beloved cats came from there a long time ago, I hop they get their act together again soon. So glad to hear of your girl's progress I hate seeing dogs tied up outside shops now especially after Jess the Collie...

- Hi Clare, thanks for updating us on Daisy. I'm really glad to hear she seems to be improving bless her !!!! Hopefully, she will be back to her normal self soon, She's had an AWFUL experience but it sounds now as if she is getting better day by day. :-)) I am glad that she is getting over the sickness/diarrhoea gradually, as was concerned about it initially. I'm sure she will be back to normal soon. Helen xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Just a quick update, Daisy is doing realy well. She's eating better and is no longersick. Shes going for a full check up on Wednesday. She's still sleeping lots but shes probably just trying to catch up on rest. She looks so much better. The cat and dog shelter she was found in was on Claremont road Newcastle, not Bedlington, my mum got the wrong place, as this is where the owner rang when Daisy was first stolen. Many thanks again to everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Just to let everyone know Daisy is doing well. She's still poorly but shes recovering well. Im still having trouble believing she was at the cat and dog shelter for 6 days and everytime they where contacted twice a day they said she wasnt there. They said if the dog warden brings in a dog then its logged, but if a member of the public brings in a dog then they dont log it????????? If weve learnt anything in this, its that you need to go and check for yourself, because they obviously dont. Also the police could have been a better help and taken it more seriously. Daisy was stolen and the man who did this has got away and its so wrong. But we got her back and shes happily in front of the fire, getting tons of attention and snuggles. I would like to say a huge thanks to everyone on this site for all their help and everyone for all the well wishes for Daisy. I'd especially like to thank you so much Helen, im soooooooo greatful for all the support and help, it was so appreciated. I seem to have misplaced your e-mail. Christine thanks you from the bottom of her heart. Daisy sends you snuggles and thanks to everyone we managed to get her back to where she belongs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Brilliant news, welcome home Daisy. Thanks for the email Furlover. Well done to everyone who has helped in the search for her. Pity the kennels do not log dogs handed in by members of the public. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- It is great to hear Daisy is back home where she belongs ! She was found at a kennel some miles away today - and it transpires she has been there for 6 days but sadly was told there wasnt a dog matching the description of Daisy in there when owner rang. Daisy wasnt logged as being at these kennels because a "member of the public" had taken her in -- It seems the kennels where she was found will only log dogs brought in by the dog warden !!!?? It's not known who took her into the kennels. It could have been that the man who took her, and perhaps "dumped" her after realising she was old and had teeth missing, and then someone found her and took her to the kennels - but we are guessing. We dont know the full circumstances apart from that she was taken which was captured in the CCTV footage which was to be used in the local newspaper. The reporter was very keen, and very helpful but Daisy was reunited before the story even got to run. Daisy isnt 100% sadly as has lost weight and is suffering from sickness and diarrhoea, hopefully now she is back with her family she will recover quickly and enjoy being spoiled. Owner and friends have done a lot of work to get Daisy back home. Welcome Home Daisy !!!!! xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Zero thanks for getting the photo on site ! Daisy has quite distinctive markings which will make her even more hot to handle ! Its great the press are going to cover the story. Are they allowed to show the mans image from CCTV in the paper ?If his face is showing clearly he may be known to the police already or he may be known locally as a shopliffter if he is into stealing which he obviously is so do put pressure on them to take this up !!! Also if we can get hold of the CCTV coverage we could put it on facebook and spread the word that way. have you tried local television ? Hoping we have some news of this girl very soon xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Hi just wanted to say a big thank you for all the help. We have managed to get the press involved and they have been out today to get all the information. They have a copy of the cctv footage and they can clearly see a face! The man was wearing white hat, white trainers and jeans. They are running the story in a local news paper tomorrow night. The news paper are also going to put pressure on the police to try and get them involved. Ive also gone to local supermarkets today and put flyers up there. Everyone is so shocked. Hopefully we will get Daisy back soon to her family where she belongs. Uploaded photos, sorry they are are not very clear, you cant see but Daisy has brown patches on her back and a thumbsize one on the top of her head.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Try and get media coverage and can we obtain the CCTV coverage which has CAPTURED THE THIEF walking off with her ? Hoping as soon as word gets round this girl will be home again very soon xx Pam Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Daisys owner nipped into shop and could actually see her but when she came out she had gone. :-((( The lead was left attached to where she had been tied up. The pub nearby has cctv and has the image of the person who stole Daisy. The police have been informed but I did say they need get back to them to obtain a crime no. from them They think the thief has taken her not realising how old she is as it was dark. Owner has been putting up their own posters as not been able to get a pic onto D.L. as yet. They will try to get a picture of a picture and contact admin to see if they can get one from that. Have advised them to poster as much as possible in the area ie vets, postmen, pubs, vets to contact and go down if possible to the stray kennels. Have email details so will also send more info to them. Hope this girl is back home asap where she belongs xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Lets hope this little one is 'too hot to handle' and whoever took her at least keeps her warm and perhaps hands her in or lets her go. Might be worth letting the local press know there are dog thieves around - and highlight her being taken.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
