Update 23/09/2022. Today marks 1 year since 9 year old Scott disappeared on a walk, only a few hundred metres from his home. Scott had been re-homed with Marika after training to serve his country as a sniffer dog and lived an amazing and active life with Marika and his wider family. It has been a privilege to get to know Scott's family and we have shared laughs, tears and many late night conversations.

For those unfamiliar with Scott's story - DroneSAR, Dog Lost and other groups as well as many members of the public have been supporting his search from the beginning. In the days, weeks and months following his disappearence, hundreds of miles were covered both in terms of ground search, many hours of active search using thermal and camera drone flights, handheld thermal cameras, tracking dogs and remote cameras.

Hundreds of posters and thousands of Royal Mail door to door leaflets were delivered. Some of the posts in Scott's group reached over 1 million people and his story was covered several times by local and national media and magazines. Despite this, there has never been a single confirmed sighting of Scott since.

You can still help in the search for Scott by visiting his group, sharing his story and helping us to find some answers for both Scott and his lovely family - who have never given up the search for their wonderful boy. Absolutely heartfelt thanks to all of the people who have assisted in some way xx

“ To the girls who have been calling me at night to mock the situation of Scott being missing, pretending to bark and laughing in voicemails,
I’m really sorry. I feel terrible for you.

I’m sorry you don’t understand the pain the past almost a year has caused Or I’m sorry that you don’t care. I’m sorry you’ve grown up to be so heartless. I’m sorry you obviously haven’t felt the love I have for my best friend and the things I’ve felt and have experienced since he went missing. I’m sorry your parents couldn’t teach you to be kind like all the hundreds of thousands of people who have shared his posts and all those who helped with searches and I’m mostly sorry that you will grow up without understanding what a difference a dog makes in your life, and how much it hurts when they’re gone.

I’ll never stop sharing his story,
I’ll never stop looking
He’ll be home one day and it will all be worth it πŸ™πŸ»πŸ–€

If you know anything just call πŸ“ž
Your reward is waiting for any information whatsoever which leads to his return. πŸ’°”

Sorry to have taken so long to update and respond. Unfortunately, we were able to rule out the Flushdyke kennels found dog on the same day that he was posted. Both local and national media and poster campaigns continue however, and the search for Scott continues.

New national and local poster campaigns (both online and physical) currently underway as well as Royal Mail door to door leafleting campaign for around 7500 residential addresses in the villages around the area of his disappearance (which will take place in next few weeks) If anyone would like either digital or physical posters sent to them, please PM Rachel Greedy via facebook or email rgreedy@me.com. Thanks all

Tuesday November 23rd I organised a group of some 20 volunteers to spread out and search for sightings so I can get some kind of idea of his movements but nothing was reported. I continue to search daily but praying for another sighting that I am alerted to quickly so I can get out there.

Monday evening, November 22nd, new information on Scott was shared with the owner and myself. The first being a photo taken October 13th at 7am of what appears to be a black dog in a field viewable from Tower hill. The second being from the local community hospital. They say that Scott visited their gardens both this last Saturday and Sunday but they were unable to lure him with food. This explains then why I was not able to trap him as he moved north from first sighting. I am very concerned becuase in order to do this he has to cross the very busy A39.

Since the sighting of Scott at Orchard Mill, Williton, I have been unsuccessful in trapping Scott and fear he has moved on already after being spooked when sighted.I am very sure Scott has been in this area a while though

Very credible sighting today of Scott.. Food trap and camera set up so I can hopefully have more information by morning. Owner is aware and ready to assist tomorrow if necessary.

No sightings of Scott since his disappearance despite many people out searching. Drone unable to cover the area due to the thickness of trees. Possible suspicion around a person in the village, Trying to seek police advice on how to proceed.

At 2.10pm Scott was reported to have been spotted at the bottom of Crowcombe Hill, heading into the village. I had been up on the Hill since early so got there very quick to meet the owners but we did not find him. Hoping he found some shelter out of the awful rain so when the weather clears we will get another sighting. Fingers crossed.
Waggy tail
How far from home is West Bagborough was he on a walk and was he wearing a collar when he went missing?

I have mentioned scammers, but would appreciate the admin message going to his owner as well.
Admin
Sorry to see that SCOTT MISSING 2 YEARS is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (170000)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
