Have had a potential sighting of Holly. She was seen yesterday on Mustard Lane / Lord Street, Croft. She ran across the road causing a lady to do an emergency stop. The lady got out of the car as the dog was quite distressed by the side of the road. She tired to coax her but the dog ran off into nearby fields. I will be putting up posters in this area in the hope that someone else will have seen her and am also contacting the farmers in this neighbourhood. Fingers crossed. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Jayne, Sorry to take so long to reply have been on holiday and then fell off my horse and sustained a back injury - but ok though!! Have had a couple of telephone calls of potential sightings in Croft and Lymm but these have been unfruitful. Warrington Guardian and leigh Journal have both run stories and Holly is featured in the Culcheth Magazine. Unfortunately nothing has come from these which leads me to believe she has been taken outside the area. Still living in hope!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm going to get on the case to design something to send to vets in my area along Eris's idea - to get all vets to scan ALL unknown dogs at first visit - regardless of knowing owner. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Any sightings Hilary?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Jayne. I have already gone to the press. The Leigh Journal ran an article in last Thursday's paper "Reward for Missing Dog", but still nothing. I have also been told that vets do not routinely scan for microchips if someone brings a dog in for treatment etc, unless they suspect something!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Why don't you contact the other owners and go to the press? If several dogs are missing they will take it more seriously-do not give up hope-look at the reunited page. Also remember that Holly is microchipped.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for your message Deb. Have started an email chain regarding Holly, and distributed posters everywhere locally!! What is extremely frustrating is that I have received not a single clue as to here whereabouts, no sightings, nothing - she has disappeared into thin air. Am now trying to come to terms that I won't get her back as am loosing all hope of finding her as time goes on. Incidentally a georgeous male siberian huskey has also gone missing from the Culcheth area and 2 dobermans, all not been seen since. Surely something strange is happening here!! Holly is a Golden Retriever, not a labrador retriever. Thanks for pointing that out.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Runfold-Eddie:
Is that Holly in the picture 'cos a Golden Retriever is pictured, not a Lab?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Molly went missing with an older female Labrador-they have both gone before for several hours but always come back. The older dog returned without Holly 5 hours later showing no signs of distress. We believe someone may have picked Holly up.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
