Sorry to hear no news on beautiful Meg still. That is very worrying about the girl taking photos - hopefully that owner at least will be more careful and not leave their dog tied up outside the shop - sadly lots of owners still do and are not aware of the risk. Don't suppose they got the car reg did they? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

still no news on Meg. A girl was spotted last week outside our local tescos takinga photo of a dog tied up, when the owner approached her she ran off  and jumped in a van. Clearly we are an area where dogs are being stolen to order!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everyone, Still no news on Meg - its absolutely devastating to think that someone out there has her and won't let her come home! I'm hoping that the warm weather will give her more opportunity to escape from where she is and make her way home.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Any news on Meg? Might be worth trying local dog grooming parlours as she'll need clipping at some point.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Francesca, not sure if you have the poster already but I will email it over incase not, thank you. Heidi, I am sure you are being a massive support to Meg's owner. I know when I spoke to her she was devastated as you say. Does she have internet access? If she does, maybe she could register on Doglost too, might help her to see the support here for her, and she can also take support from others in similar circumstances, can see what they have done etc. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Wow - Thanks everyone - I'll get onto all of that today! I'm printing off more posters - have put some up near the local travellers sight - as i was wary of going in. Local radio is something i haven't yet tried - its difficult as Meg is my friends dog ( i own megs brother ) and she is so upset. But I'm still trying - thanks for all your suppport - and anyone who lives locally i can put a supply of posters in Staines in Tiptree - if your local you'll know where i mean! Ask at the till! Thanks again, HeidiLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi,
I'm so sorry to hear about Meg. I saw the notice in the village shop - I live in Tolleshunt D'arcy. I'd be happy to put a poster/ leaflets in my window as I live on the main road through the village. How do I go about getting hold of some?

Hi Baileysmum. What about asking your local newsagent if the delivery boys/girls can put small fliers in with the papers? Don't forget to keep on to your local rescue centres too - once a week at least. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Baileysmum, sorry there has still been no news on Meg. As Sue said, she will shortly be featured in Countryman's Weekly magazine. Has your local paper run a story at all (or is that the same as the magazine you mention?). Did you have any joy with local radio? Sorry for all the 101 questions! Have you received any calls or info at all? Keep spreading the word using the posters far and wide. The pressure needs to be kept up and Meg really needs to be made 'too hot to handle'. How about creating some larger signs you can put by traffic lights/main junctions/busy areas into/out of the area , A3 size staked into ground - others have done in the past, just putting 'Missing', Megs photo and your phone number plus also worth putting Doglost website (& no.) as if someone is driving past they won't always have time to write the number maybe but will be able to remember 'DogLost' and find Meg's and your details on here. Other things to try - you could see if your local newsagents would be kind enough to include a 'Meg flyer' when delivering the free papers. Make sure postie, dustmen etc all have a poster too. Baileysmum, I sent Meg's details to go in The Countryman's Weekly a few days ago but it may be a couple of weeks before they are published. I'll put a message on here when they do.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've managed to get her into the local village magazine - can anyone suggest how to get some of the national dog magazines to put her in?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Please be careful Baileysmum. Doesn't your local council have a traveller liasion officer? I think it would be much safer to leave it to them to go to the sites. It would probably be ok for you to just drive by and have a quick look, but I definetely wouldn't go on to any sites on your own.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi thanks for the messages, putting up posters in colchester would be a fantastic help. I'v been to all the local vets with posters and the local dog walking aress - still no sightings. I'm planning to brave the local travellers sites on my day off on monday. The posters are definately creaing a big awareness of Meg though so i hope its just a matter of time before someone calls to say they know where she is.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A4 poster and smaller flyers done for Meg and emailed to Baileysmum to pass on to owner. I hope they help in the search for Meg. She needs to be made the best known girl around! If anyone is local and would like a copy of the poster and flyer please post here and we will forward on to you. Anna - I have sent you a copy! Thanks.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What a beautiful little girl. I am back in Colchester for the week from Saturday and I shall certainly put some posters up for the owners if this has not already been done so. Wishing you lots of luck, stay strong and positive. Anna Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Meg disappeared from her home in Tolleshunt D'arcy, Essex - from the circumstances her owner believes she has been stolen. Local dog wardens have been notified, as have vets, kennels and chip company. Have advised that the Police should be called again and it be made clear this is a suspected theft not a just a lost dog.  I am going to do an A4 poster and smaller flyers for owner - will be emailing via baileysmum. Owners will then blitz they area. Also will try and get local paper and radio coverage. Please if anyone is local and can help out all at all it would be very much appreciated by owners, understandably they are desperate to get gorgeous Meg back home.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
