We did talk about this possibility Yasa, and owner has done this in towns and villages further down river. Good idea about the papers, ill give her another ring and check she has seen it. Hopefully the flooding is subsiding a bit now.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry I'm nowhere near, but have the areas further down the river been postered well, in case he had gone into the river and been washed down further? Perhaps there could be a story for the local papers which would bring mass publicity. Have rescue centres and Dog wardens, vets in other areas been contacted. We have known running dogs to turn up 50 - 60 miles away. Do hope there is good news for you soon.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoke to owner today, she has posterd loads, downstream too, the river has flooded since this happened  which makes things harder. Its come over two fields. Archie was near his home and knew his way back, his friend would have followed him apparantley,  but he was found by he edge of the river.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry Lynn am confused with info. Did the other whippet return straight away?  Are we saying that Archie has a coat on, and is tagged ? Is it the collar that is flat green leather?  I wonder if he could have got his coat caught up somewhere, but I'm sure he would have responded if heard people calling? What time of day was it when he went missing, and was it snow or anything? Just trying to get a better picture in my head. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

On that part of the Thames are there river police or similar who patrol. Might be worth contacting them or notifying people who moor their boats locally. Not sure how big the river is at this point.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Archie went missing very near the river Thames near Goring. Owners are worried he may have fallen in as river very high. This dog and owners are well known to my friend , . He is apparantly a big strong dog so if he was swept away he might have got out downstream somewhere else away from the area, so all areas need to be covered. Have asked that they poster like mad,Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Archie ran off with another whippet last monday whilst being walked.  Was very near a river and railway. Owners have phoned Vets, council, and checked area.  Given advice re contacting other councils and Petlog which not already done.  Photo on its way. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
