I posted the following on ItsASpringThing.
There has been some interest in the "star" picture - and the term "exclusive" has been mentioned by two doggy organisations.

It has already been copied and used on a number of websites without permission - which I’ve dealt with. So, to protect it, I’ve temporarily disabled the links to the pic and the slide show.

Emma and I want the "star" pic to be used wisely and with maximum impact in the interest of dogs.

It’s also been mentioned on another thread that it has special interest to ST - I agree.

I did say to Jayne that any DogLost helpers (or their friends!) can email me and I’ll provide a link. I’m not trying to stop anyone enjoying the pics - I just don’t want them copied and overexposed before decisions are made.

Sally, I passed the link on to my friends so that they could enjoy the reunited pictures with the lovely music but they said that they could not view it either, I have just had a look and there seems to be a problem with the web site, I hope it is resolved and you can see it soon.

thank you everyone from doglost, also a very heart felt thank you to everyone who pulled all the stops out to find Alf from its a spring thing website, Alfs back home where he belongs, slightly dehydrated, lost weight but will be fine, he came out to me when i was alone, as soon as he saw me he run so fast and jumped all over me, his so happy, not had a good sleep yet, he seems to be on a high to be home, apart from myself not being able to leave theroom his in alone, his acting just like normal, chasing the cats lol   again thank you everyone

Hope that they can pin point where the barking is coming from, I have sent owners a text suggesting a BBQ with garlic sausages as the smell may draw him out - we have had other dogs lost before who have stayed near to pits and quarrys as they are quiet and the dog feels quite safe there, there will also be plentiful food sources as there is likely to be lots of rabbits. good luck to everyone on the ground today, just remember that he will be scared and you need to adopt a non threatening body position, crouched or laying on the floor and no direct eye contact if you seen him, he has to be able to trust people near to him

John, Emma and izzie and Karen are all spread out walking in the same direction so they can all hear each other calling, at one point izzie and karen thought they heard a dog barking, they stopped, couldnt hear it, kaen went with izzie calling out and all of a sudden they heard a dog barking again, emma called out dog started howling, Emma ia now completely going off her head and they are trying to centre in on where the noise is coming from.
Just heard all this from Karen who has had to leave as she has a hospital appointment to attend with one of her family.
Good/Bad news is there is also a staffy puppy lost down there today, sad that the dog is lost but does mean there are othr people there looking.
Other bad news is this area is huge and very echoey so may not be as easy it sounds to follow the dog barking.
Fingers crossed and lots of prayers for them all today.

Em and some volunteers have gone back out this evening to see if there is any sign.
Those of us who can’t help with the physical search have emailed/faxed/phoned every business, club and association service, council department etc that we can think of . is there anything else we haven’t thought of?

Em getting awareness is what needs to be done and you have staurated the area well with your posters and informing everyone so he will get spoted and someone will call you just be prepared..he is scared so is lying low somewhere.

No luck finding Alf last night :-(   Owner has received 50 laminated posters this morning, she is absolutely exhausted. Is anyone around that area at all today that could maybe help with putting the posters out in the area. Alf has been sighted each time very close to his home...........................we need to get him found!!

Also as posted below Selina has informed the Railway.   Also Heart FM have been informedthey wont put out an appeal but will keep info on file in case anyone calls in and says they have found a dog of Alf’s description. Shame they wont put out an appeal isn’t it. Still at least they know.   Come home Alf xx

I've notified Network rail and was put through to the Helpline, they were very helpful and have taken all of Alf's details, they will ring you if there is any news, I've asked them to notify any local workers that could be working the area over the next few days, it helped I know someone who works on the rail and he told me exactly what to say to make them more likely to contact the workers and in turn the owner I've got a log number will email that to the owner now.

Maybe too far north in Northampton - but have printed off posters to do junctions 15, 15A and 16.  Also given to delivery/despatch drivers to keep their eyes open ... just in case!

Owner sorry to see Alf is missing, thanks for registering his details on DL, we will do all we can to help you in your search.  Great you have emailed photo/s to Admin.  You need to poster poster poster the area as much as possible, we cannot stress enough the importance of the postering.  Posters can be printed once a photo has been added by selecting Dog Poster 1 just above Dog Information (you must be registered and logged in).   Has he gone missing from your home or on a walk? Contact DW's, rescues, vets and leave a poster (you can find vets in the area by clicking on the logo right hand side just underneath Latest Missing photo).  Dogs can be rehomed after 7 days, try and visit rescues do not rely on phone calls alone.   Please update us on who has been contacted i.e. DW's etc and if you have started postering.  You can leave a comment by selecting  Add a comment  just above Comments.  Good luck and hope he is found soon.  Jan x
