Thank you so much for everyones help, support and concern during the past 2 months - I can't belive she is home.  She had been stolen and had been sold on but we have managed to track her down and the proof was her chip.  Back home in good condition and everyone is happy.  The other dogs were so please to see her too! It will be a VERY Happy Easter for all of us.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Juliet,i was so sorry to hear that you had lost your dear Marmite.I did alot of searching for Sia last year but have had great difficulty getting back on the site since it was updated and have had to re register. Now i am ready to help you in any way i can. I had mentioned to Laura that i had spotted a lady walking a patterdale on the Chipping Norton Churchill road at the begining of Feb,i only saw her twice and i had never seen her before and im affraid didn't see her again. However i walk around Sarsden and my friend does too and she said that a man had spotted a black dog which he thought could have been Marmite afew weeks ago but i will try and find out abit more info.I will put more posters up in the area and please let me know if i can do anything else to help.Take care and we are all thinking of you!xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I don't if this is of any relevance or not but We were on holiday in Broadway last week just got back.I saw the poster on Stow on the Wold and on the way back to Broadway in the fields by the police station I saw a large black dog  running alone this was on Wednesday it looked large terrier type but I was in a van so cannot be 100% but I thought you should know. I hope all goes well and Marmite is Found soon. Everyone on dog lost is doing a brilliant job. I am following Monty down in Cornwall at the moment but hadn't heard of dog lost before this so this is why I spotted the poster of Marmite. keep up the good workLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Elf
Can i suggest we could do some checking this weekend with a few 'mini' groups at different times and different places. I would be more than happy to give some time to doing this and am sure lots of others would be too. Marmite is such a friendly little soul who must be very very missed and if she is around the area surely we can deploy some folks. Are there any foods she is nuts about? Keeping fingers firmly crossed ElfLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Another possible sighting in the churchyard at Charlbury.  Have been and searched area - it could have been a dog belonging to the people in The Rectory as they have one similar - lets hope not. The lady who spotted her yesterday said she was fit but looking a bit sorry for herself but she did come upto her so she is not totally feral. Have walked back home along the river - but no joy, the highs and lows of searching for Marmite. I found the owner for the lovely black labrador - they lived fairly close.  But still no Marmite .  Have spoken to all the local landowners and residents in the area and asked them to keep a look out.  Spent time on the river bank near Catsum bridge at Chadlington and did more scenting - but nothing.  The railway line has been checked and there is nothing there.  Today I have to do the VAT but want to be out looking again.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Laura, Sia's Owner
Another possible sighting.  As you come out of Chipping Norton on the way to Charlbury - there is a Reserve which people walk their dogs in.  Someone called Juliet this morning to say that they had seen a terrier type on the car park side (no obvious owner) when she arrived to walk her dog and when she left it was on the opposite side of the road (with definitely no owner).  This sighting is possible as if she was seen chasing a deer yesterday and was in hunting mode....as the crow flies it isnt too far from Chadlington across the fields (couple of miles).  She is on her way there to check it out and to poster the area....Keep your eyes peeled!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Laura, Sia's Owner
Hi!  Just spoke with Juliet and she was a little down as they had parked the truck up near where she was seen (couldnt get right there as mud too bad) last night and put her bed in it and food and nothing was touched this morning.  I told her not to get too dispondant as it can be a game of wits!  Are there any other terrier lovers/owners who have had to "catch" their dogs again that could add comment?  What about a humane fox trap?  Can anyone advise on whether that would be a good idea? What are terriers urges?  Is dawn and dusk the best time to go out and see if you can catch a glimpse of her?  ANY ideas would be so gratefully received - she is doing such a great job but its always so helpful for new ideas/plans to be posted....and to keep moral high!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

have just spoken with owner, this is a very credible sighting from someone who know's Marmite so owner is now going back with sardines, bread and a BBQ to see if they can draw her out, I have advised on body language and behaviour if they see her.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just returned from looking this morning - no sight and no evidence.  The report yesterday was from a fishermen and she wouldn't come within 3meters of him.  He said she was covered in mud but looked well.  I am going back shortly with a book and chair and will sit there and hope.  If anyone has any ideas or experience of this sort of situation please let me know.     Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a call earlier today and she may still be local to Chadlington.  Have been to the area tonight and scented.  I am trying not to get too excited - but I am!! The person who thinks that they saw her said she was in looking fine.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yesterday sfternoon was spent between Worcester and Chadlington visiting Fuel stations, betting shops, Pet Feed Stores and Fish and Chip Shops - of which there are loads! - putting up posters - Worcester is hard work to get round and I did not get as much done as I had hoped.  If there is anyone out there in the Worcester area who could help me putting posters on the Pershore side I would be really grateful.  I did all around the Rugby Club end (WR3 postcode) some garages couldn't allow it - but some who weren't supposed to put them up anyway.  Still no sightings locally and everyone knows.  We hope for good news today.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have been out scenting and plotting this morning now off to Gloucestershire and Worcestershire visiting all Fuel stations to poster - today seems even harder to deal with than yesterday.  Thank you to everyone who has been postering - a finding them in places and have no idea how they got there!  Brilliant 'THANK YOU'Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you Laura for your support to Marmite's owners - I know from speaking to her last night that you have been of great emotional support to her and this is such a big part of being able to deal with the loss of your beloved pet. I have a second picture of Marmite which I will upload to day, if anyone locally can help with the postering please contact owner directly to see where best to place them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Everyone.  Juliet is a friend of mine.  I lost my dog Sia last year and was just humbled by all the support and help that you guys have given me over the last year (I'm still hoping!).  If there are any willing hands for postering and eyes in lots of areas please help.  Juliets other dog is in a terrible state...and so are the family...  I know that Juliet will be back online with regular updates and any ideas as to where she would like peoples help....but suggestions and brain storming is SOOO helpful in times like this... Thanks a million and I know you will all be as amazing with Juliet as you were/still are with me. LauraLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken at lenght with owner who is doing a stirling job, there are 2 possible scenairo's 1 Marmite has gone hunting as she has been known to do before so owners have sbeen sent scenting and plotting instructions or that she has been picked up by passers by seen in a white Subaru vehicle. Local helpers will be mailed out information incase they spot Marmite.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
