- Thank you all so much for your kind words. I cannot believe that I have lost my beautiful boy. I am totally devastated. He, with his brother Hugo were the lights of my life. Hugo can't work out where Hecotor's gone, and neither can Hattie my 1 yr old cockapoo. He did not deserve to die so young. We expect our animals to live a certain life expectancy, but to be robbed of him in his prime seems so cruel. I take comfort in the fact that he died out in the place he loved the most. He had been swimming and playing with Hugo + Hattie right up until the time he disappeared. He really was my golden boy, so handsome, and such fun. I miss him more than I can express.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- I am so sad & sorry to have to let all of you know that dear Hector has passed away. Hector's owner has just called to let me know that a friend & fellow dog walker's own dog found Hector only about 50yds away from where Hector's owner had been searching. He was lying in the heather & not immediately visible , it is presumed he had a fatal heart attack. Hector's owner asked me to thank everyone for their help & concern. Run free at Rainbow Bridge handsome boy. Steph.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Thank you for all your help here guys.I have just spoken to Hector's owner,he is still missing & there have been no sightings as yet. Posters have been put up all around the area & the car parks are checked regularly. I am going to send Hector's owner some scenting instructions to help with what can be done in the car parks especially near to where Hector went off.It sounds like Hector has got himself lost in this vast area,he's out there somewhere & it just needs a sighting to start to home in on him.Fingers crossed the posters start to work & Hector's owners get that call. - Just to say that I have now alerted our members and asked them to keep an eye open for Hector - hope you are found soon little man. Can I suggest that the owners stay close to the car park, dogs lost like this will often go in circles and keep coming back through car parks. It's a very remote part of the Forest with only one road running through it, but popular with walkers nonetheless, so hopefully someone will catch sight of him before too long. I have also alerted the Forestry Commission and the Verderers. Penny Gayler New Forest Dog Owners GroupLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Angus, think this is possibly Beaulieu Road....... I'm not very close to this but once it's circulated to New Forest Dog Owners Group I'm sure there will be people much nearer who will help, it's a very doggie community in the New Forest area. Also has Neil Burton, dog warden, been notified? Tel No. 02380 285202, out of hours Lost Paws on 0870 609 1449. Please, owner, go back to the car park where you last saw him, they usually return to where they went from. Perhaps you could put some food out there, and some item of clothing he can associate with you - may help to keep him in the area if he returns. Stay safe Hector till you can be found.
