Will and Natalie - If only there were more selfless amazing people like you out there, many more dogs could be returned to their rightful owners. To take the time and effort to rescue a dog, a beautiful boy called Buddy in this case, form a bond, and then have to return it to its rightful owner, would be such an emotional wrench for you. Well done to both of you. You deserve a dog, and no doubt will be amazing owners. There are many dogs in rescue, so your search may continue, but your special little friend is out there waiting. This is the most amazing news and full credit goes to the family who adopted Buddy then did the right thing in returning him to his owners. Wihtout their full co-operation none of this would have been possible and you have made Buddy and his owners very happy indeed. Thank you x

So sorry to hear about the fallout that appears to have happened on FB...No derrogative comments are ever allowed on Doglost...All comments are instantly live but read within minutes and then deleted if inappropriate.

Yes we have had many similar cases in the past with 1 digit incorrect on chip ...Rescues are always trying to find owners and if not they are at their own expense ensuring the dogs safety at all times,paying vets bills and finding new homes...I will never allow any comments on this site that attacks rescues and the wonderful work they do.

I must thank the new owners for doing the right thing ( though technically and legally the dog now belongs to you as the kennels followed procedures to the nail)...you had the heart to think of the dog and the previous family and by your kind actions have made another family complete.

I think it would be better use of keyboard warriors time)to help rescues rather than attack them! Please understand that many of us have sold houses to help dogs and your comments with your friends...who I guess you have never met?...is not the way forward...

The best thing you can do is suppprt local rescues,,If you think they are not performing..contact them directly and offer rhelp?

Amazing reunited update on Buddy’s Facebook page:

On the 11th of April 2022, Natalie and I Adopted Buddy from Cliff Kennels who provided and absolutely excellent service in helping us adopt our dream doggy 🐕

Yesterday we were made aware that buddy had been stolen In November last year so we made contact with his owners Danielle and Tom Through Karen at HART SAR.

Buddy was immediately returned to his owners this morning who are absolutely over the moon with his return.

Through no fault of Cliff Kennels was Buddy not returned to his owners sooner and it was in fact down to a clerical error from the chipping company.

Natalie, the kids and I are absolutely gutted to see Buddy go, however it was the correct thing to do given the circumstances and he has a brilliant home to live in with Danielle and Tom where he will have all of the care he needs.

Please can all of the hateful comments to Cliff Kennels stop as none of this is their fault and Buddy is now home.

It is extremely hard for us to keep seeing the disturbing comments especially when dealing with the loss of Buddy.

Cliffe kennels followed all correct procedures in attempting to find Buddy’s owners - they also spent a massive amount on vets bills. The chip company held a number that had a wrong digit in it but could have given another number if they had looked further into the information they held on Buddy and only gave this to Cliffe Kennels yesterday, by which time he had been officially adopted… and this is how all of this began.

Everyone should double check their microchip registration is holding the correct contact information.

SDK Environmental. They run found dog kennels for local authorities. The dog referred to is at Cranleigh. Have a look on the SDK website. Good luck.

Apparently there is CCTV of Buddy being taken. Facebook and Tweets supporting this new information. Please KarenKay can you email your CRN from the Police to stolen@doglost.co.uk, therefore enabling Doglost to change Buddy to stolen. Thank you.
