Cazzajack - I keep calling in here hopeing for news. Dont forget that any media publicity you can get, we can bump Sammie back to the top. We have also put him forward for Countrymans Weekly.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I take it that it was Sammie in the Petsearch column in the Fenland Citizen. When my little Bubbles was lost in Wisbech I had a few sightings of her via the column so good luck. XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Cazzajack - keep your chin up. Its still early days. Just keep going. I have put in a request for him to go into our regular slot we have in countrymans weekly, but any other publicity you can get lke that, go for it. Its the same with the posters. Seems like you have put up thousands sometimes. but it is often the very last poster that you had in your bag that will bring the dog home. Have all pubs, markets, boot fairs, shopping parades, bus stops, train stations, etc been done? There is always somewhere else. Also put them through doors and leave on cars in carparks. Bless you all - wishing you luck and praying for a sighting or some information soon. Let us know when he is in the newspapers, Horse and Hound or anywhere else, and we will push him up to the top again. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Good spot Sulimax, could even be teh same litter but sadly it's not him. The colouring below his left eye is rounded, the found dog has a pointy bit. And on Sammy the white stripe widens out above eye level, this poor found dogs doesn't. Do keep looking though. He has to be somewhere. My little lurcher went missing for 6 whole days, posters on every lamp post near where he went missing meant we kept getting sightings reported so we knew where to keep looking, and eventually found him. He was clean and toastie warm and hadn't lost weight despite bitter sleet and driving winds. Fingers crossed Sammy is doing the same!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Also there is the RSPCA West Norfolk  dog shelter and re homing  which rents space from the Eaubrink Boarding Kennels at Tilney All Saints,Kings Lynn-01553617318.The holding kennels for dogs found by the Kings Lynn Dog Warden who does cover a large area, used to be the Ocobo Kennels(01366 347303),they are then passed on to the RSPCA after a week. There is also the RSPCA Block Fen Animal Centre and Cox's Lane holding Kennels(Wisbech 583177).Also the usual RSPCA East Norfolk etc.The RSPCA West Norfolk does have a website with featured dogs but isn't that up to date.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Might be an idea to contact owners of missing lurchers further down page, Pam and Peg, DL no.17045 and 6, and sharing ideas,  as you are fairly near to each other. Putting Sammie on forums as missing will have a nation of whippet lovers helping too, such as Lurcher Search and, Sighthounds on line are a couple . Good luck. Come home soon Sammie xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Inform local farmers ,landowners and local hunts, poster like mad , and go as far afield as you can, I wish I was nearer to help. Your lovely boy is chipped and that is  huge advantage. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Really appreciate your help madmutz. Have emailed all contact numbers to owners friend. Owner please be sure to inform the microchip company that Sammie is missing and contact the authorities over a very wide area as advised. Numbers have been emailed through. If someone has picked him up in a car - he could be handed in anywhere. Also it is very important to poster all pubs and meeting places as quickly as possible to get the word out. If not home Monday contact local radio and newspapers. Good Luck and hopefully he will be home soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry to see that lovely Sammie has gone missing. I have spoken to friend of he owners who has registered Sammie as missing. He has run off or disappeared from owners land at about 10.30 his morning, Sat 21st Feb from the Harpsnall Road, Biggs Road area. Was let out as usual, along with owners two other dogs for only about six minutes, and just did not return with the others when called. This is most unusual. Sammie is a very friendly dog and would run up to anyone he saw to say hello. A car was seen in the area, so it is possible that Sammie has been picked up. Have advised what should be done and owners are printing posters off now, which will be distributed and put up this evening and during the night. Hopefully, if he is on an adventure he will retun by himself tonight, otherwise we hope to get a call tomorrow to say he is safe somewhere. Dog wardens, police, pounds, and vets will be notified tomorrow. Sending information through to them by email this evening. Good Luck Sammie. I hope to see you home by tomorrow xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
