Stay positive Bev.  He is out there somewhere and hopefully will be home soon.  It would be great if they would print the CCTV pic in the paper that would at least get people to ring up and say who took him.  Any chance of that being done ?  Did the story go in the Crawley paper as well ?  I think that would be good to do a follow up in the Horsham paper with a reward offered - especially if it was front page again.  Have you any idea how Jack can get back on page 1 of Doglost as he is page 7 and we wont be able to see him soon ?  Would be good to get him back to the top again. Hi Julie, was pleased with write up - thought I would phone paper and say how pleased I was with report and ask if they could follow it up with a reward.  Have been busy delivering poster everywhere!  Went to a travellers site Friday and they hear anything they will call me....xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just seen our local paper today with a fantastic write up and lovely picture of Jack on the front page.  I hope that this brings him back home to where he belongs.  Are you able to bump his page to the top again - to keep him noticed ? JulieLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Beverley, was nice meeting you today. I have been out and postered in Warnham, Broadbridge Heath, Southwater and some more in Horsham.  I have postered mainly in petrol stations, village shops and also the large Sainsburys (both supermarket and petrol station) which was a good result.  What with the posters and the CCTV being looked at by police tomorrow I think it is only a matter of time before Jack is back home with you. Beverley, I have just rung and spoken to Wendy.  I have left my telephone number with her for you to give me a ring on Sunday and we can sort out the postering. Julie XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I cant even begin to imagine how you must be feeling.  If you need any help with postering in Horsham/Broadbridge Heath area, let me know and I will be only too happy to help.  Just try to keep positive and I am sure your lovely boy will be home soon.  Julie X  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Julie, thank you for your message.  Have contacted County Times and they are going to help hopefully. The other papers you mentioned I will try tomorrow - thank you for that.  So far have put up over 150 posters in local areas so lets hope someone recognises him as he is much loved and missed by me and my 3 young kids! x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am sure Jack will be home where he belongs soon.  Do you have any more information on the people who took him, what sort of car they were driving or in which direction they were heading ? I imagine that they are maybe people who live local to the surrounding area as Rusper is just a small village.  Have you put an advert in the Crawley Observer and Weekend Herald (which are the Crawley papers) whic are close by to Rusper - also the West Sussex County Times and The Horsham Advertiser (which are the Horsham papers) - both of these would cover areas immediately either side of Rusper. Wishing jack home safely very soon. Julie XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A4 Posters and smaller ones emailed to Owner, with further advice and information.  Once the posters start getting circulated and in the right place fingers crossed Jack's owner gets the phone call they are waiting for.   Good luck.  Jan x If anyone is able to help with the postering please let us know and we can email the various size posters to you.  Thanks Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Do we know which direction they headed towards ?  I live about 20 mins away.  Also owner could ring the local radio station 'Radio Mercury' to ask if they would mention on air to listeners (I have heard this being done before). JulieLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

ok as i said poster like mad......if we give these people the benefit of the doubt and think they could poss have made a mistake with the address given then you need to alert them to the fact he is your dog. poster like crazy... get the advert colour photo with reward in the paper lost and found pets section. and make him too hot too handle xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

My thoughts entirely thats why I rang the finders to be greeted with the good news that the dog they found was microchipped.   A lthough Jack escaped he was seen to be picked up by a couple in their 30's / 40's who enquired in local shop as to who the owner was..they were told the address but went off in the opposite direction?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Bit of a long shot I know, but is there any way this could be found dog 17171 ??    He could have been picked up then dumped later, or managed to run away............Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I?m sorry to hear your dog is missing. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres?local council stray dogs holding kennel give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars.., If you can go down there each day to check for your dog that is the best thing as they only have to hold a dog for 7 days before it can legally be rehomed or in some cases destroyed. It is also worth contacting the local police as if someone has found your dog they may well have contacted them. email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo please if you haven?t already. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Get postering now?..as quickly and as many as you can physically manage. make sure you offer a reward on the posters. POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!?I cannot emphasize how important this is, from the posters you will get sightings and lots of extra pairs of eyes looking out for your dog. Poster bus stops, train stations, supermarket/retail park car parks, pet shops petrol stations, lay by snack vans, service stations, bins, poo bins, shopping centres, take away outlets, pubs, lamposts, caf?s, leisure centre?s,??.basically anywhere people go you need to poster like mad so nobody misses them? ask in as many places as you can if they will display a poster for you. Tell postman and binmen and give them a poster so they have your phone no handy? infact tell every single person you meet while searching as the more people know the much better chance of getting your dog back quickly. Contact the local newspaper and radio stations? take out an advert with a photo in the papers pets section lost and found and make sure you offer a reward!. If you believe your dog has been stolen then it is very important you contact the police for a crime reference number?. And the postering publicity should have the aim of not only getting gyour dog home but making it too hot to handle. Cross posted to Labrador forums Good luck xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
