I haven't been down to Bude for a couple of years so I don't know if they're still there, but there used to be riding stables as you came in to Bude from Widemouth Bay direction. My husband often used them and they used to take riders quite close to the Bude canal. Would be worth asking them to look out for the dogs. Also, with holiday season upon us, have you postered local caravan sites, etc? The more eyes looking out for them the better. Best of luck xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Lady rang me today to say, after seeing a poster in a garden centre yesterday ,she saw a collie and jack russell very similar to Meg & Sam about 3 weeks ago running by theirselves on the back roads between Boscastle and Camelford.  I have spoken to St Francis home for Animals amd the Rspca at St Columb but they have had no reports of stray dogs.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner, have you postered that area? Ideally you need to get down there and poster heavily in those areas. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a phone call tonight of a possible sighting of a Collie and Jack Russell being walked along the road by a woman in the Warbstow area, near Canworthy Water.  Please, does anyone knows anybody in the area that has owned these breeds of dogs genuinely for a long time?  But if anyone is suspicious that somebody has recently acquired these two dogs, please let me knowLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

In answer to the person who saw my poster in Penbode, yes I've put one in the shop up by the church.  I did mention to the owner that there was a stray collierunning around but he never mentioned about the pub owner.  Thanks for your comment as it all helps.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Looks like things are getting more positive for little Meg.  More posters up more calls you will get.  Make sure owner that the dog warden that covers the sightings area is aware too. She is very young so going to be frightened.  Good luck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Another appeal going out on Pirate fm tomorrow, to try and focus on those possible sightings, and hopefully bring in more. Thanks, a1barb -that is good information for Meg's owner to follow up. Great to see another local on site, too. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Saw you poster at Penbode vets in Bude yesterday.  Just to let you know your Whitstone sighting is probably more likely.  There is a collie frequently seen in Stratton, he is owned by the barman at the Tree Inn, have you postered there?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a call late morning to say a collie was spotted at somebody's doorstep in the Whitstone area yesterday about 4.30pm.  Couldn't get near it though. This is in the complete opposite direction to our farm to where there was a sighting the day before.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

That is very encouraging, please keep postering. The more posters there are, the more pairs of eyes will be helping you search. Jules - thanks for the Facebook appeal for help - good idea. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a phone call from a lady in Stratton this morning which is about 5 miles cross country to say she saw a collie wandering around in that area yesterday morning and was prompted to ring me when she saw the poster in the Bude branch of Morrisons.  I drove around that area this morning and put a poster in the village shop hoping it may bring forth some more sightingsLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner has postered her immediate area, including the vets, and has alerted dog wardens on both sides of the Cornwall/Devon Border. An advert has gone into the local paper, 'The Cornish and Devon Post'. The owner would really appreciate some practical help, if there is anyone in this area able to offer help.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
