A puppy reported stolen from a car park at Fosse Meadows Country Park has sadly been found deceased.

Fudge, a four-month-old Cocker Spaniel, was stolen when the rear windscreen of his owner’s black Vauxhall Astra was smashed at around 9.45am on Wednesday morning (9 Feb). Fudge was stolen from his crate inside the car.

Enquiries were carried out to try and locate Fudge. Sadly, yesterday (Sunday), police were informed by a member of the public that Fudge had been found deceased in an outside area in Gilmorton.

Fudge’s owners have been informed.

Sergeant Jess Harper said: “This is heartbreaking news and our investigation remains ongoing to establish the full circumstances and find out exactly what happened to Fudge.

“We have been speaking with Fudge’s owners who are, as expected, absolutely devastated.

“We continue to appeal to anyone who has any information to get in touch with us.

“Were you in the area of Fosse Meadows Country Park on Wednesday morning? Did you see or hear anything which caused you concern? Have you seen or heard anything about Fudge since which could help us in our investigation?

The worst possible outcome. Absolutely devastating to read this update. Such a tragic loss of a beautiful boy, robbed of a long, happy and loved life with his family.
So so sad. I hope Fudge’s family get the answers they need, and that justice is done.

So very sorry for the loss of Fudge. My condolences to his family who must be heartbroken. Nightie night Fudge, sleep tight, and have fun at the bridge with the other "Rainbow babies" who are waiting to play. RIP+ God Bless a ~~~Candle~~~burns for you. One day when the time is right,. you will meet Fudge at the bridge, and he will show you the way. Forever together. Now with loving Angels x

It is with a very heavy heart we have to report that Fudge has been recovered nearby and has crossed rainbow bridge. Please respect Rob and Hayleys privacy and do not bombard them, do leave your condolences here for them to read when they are strong enough.

I agree with all you say Vizslamum Yes I think too that someone knows something. Fudge needs to keep being made "TOO HOT TO HANDLE" Poster where, and when you can. would also post a STOLEN DOG ad in a National newspaper too, as like me not everyone does Social Media. Small paws xd.
