Just added an extra photo - to show his hip bones/spine.  He stands 24.5" tall (floor to spine) and he's standing by my 9 yr old daughter who is  4 ft 11" tall to give you an impression of his size.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No tattoo in either ear and will take to my vets to check for a chip tomorrow.  As far as his bodily condition is concerned, his coat is nice and glossy - possibly a sign of youth.  I don't know enough about sighthounds to know how his condition compares - I know seeing their ribs is quite 'normal' but with this chap both hip bones jut out and you can see every vertebra on his spine so I am guessing a few extra pounds wouldn't go amiss.  I'm giving him 4 SMALL meals a day (JWB sachets) with Mixed Vegetable supplement from dorwest herbs with a bit of cooked spinach/fresh carrot chucked in and he's eating  well.  Shout out if I should be doing something else.

Mollychops don't be disheartened; the owners were grateful that people with keen eyes and sharp memories were still looking for their boy and leaving no stone unturned.  Better they at least had the opportunity to satisfy themselves it wasn't him that not have that chance and be forever wondering.

Pip's owner called me this morning and I'm sure this is a different dog, Pip being a whippet x bedlington.  I have also checked Blue's photo and that's a negative too sadly. The dog we found yesterday is jet black with a small white star (about 1" diameter) on his chest.  There is a tiny oval scar on the black of his nose, as if he's scraped off the black and you can only see the pink flesh beneath.  The scar is about 6mm by 4mm. Don't know if this is is unusual but although he has whined a little, he has yet to bark - despite currently cohabiting with 3 VERY noisy terriers.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Or could he be 13496 BLUE, also from South East area, described as a whippet but looks very large in his photo.   Blue is chipped but could be missed?   Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Could he be Pip, missing from London last year? Left message with owners to checkLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
