I am so very sorry. I have been working on here all evening (12th) and only just come across this. My heart goes out to owners and to everyone who has had to deal with this. I am devastated - I really hoped Suzi would be home safe today. God Bless xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A truely sad day, It was nice to meet up with Suzi's family tonight albeit under such sadness. She said that Suzi was a real livewire and did everything at 40mph. So full of energy and fun, I am in no doubt that she is now harassing the deer over the rainbow bridge. I would just like to add my thanks to everybody that has been out looking. Especially My son Jordan who would normally limit his walking to and from the fridge but has walked miles today and also to Jean who has also hiked for miles postering and talking to dog walkers. A huge thank you to Fred (Pips neigbour) who helped recover Suzi's body and bring her home to rest in peace, he even managed to find Suzi and I when even I did not know where I was! My thoughts are with you and your mum and dad tonight. Sleep tight sweet Suzi. xxx  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Im sad at this outcome, at least if she was chasing a deer, it would have been very quick, she wouldnt have known anything. My thoughts are with owners, and also to Mark who found her. God Bless XXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is such very sad news, Mark called as soon as he found Suzi's body, sadly she died doing what she loved, Chasing Prey, her family will be distraught at the outcome. I would like to say a huge ''Thank you '' once again to Mark who had been out searching all day, how he managed to find Suzi is amazing the forest area there is huge and then to have the awful result that she had passed away, I felt your pain Mark and so sorry that this was the outcome. My thoughts are with Suzi's owners tonight and with Mark who also worked so hard to find her. Sandie x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

i am so sorry that this has happened to suzi. Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together

I managed to speak to owners briefly earlier after Mark called for more information on location. The muzzle is a Baskerville, she will be able to drink and pant but not eat, hopefully she will show herself tomorrow..  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have spoken with owners tonight, Suzi ran off after a deer in Bricket Wood Common heading towards London House Estates in the direction of  Aldenham, this is a vast area so any spare feet, eyes and ears would be greatly appriecated tomorrow, Suzi is a very nervous dog so if you do spot her please observe and call owners immediately or Mark after 11- his phone number is on his earlier post, we do not want to spook her further but as she is muzzled, time is of the essence, please take stinky food such as pilchards/ sardines or old fashioned butcher tripe as this may bring her out of hiding.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I can help poster the area tomorrow from about lunch time if you want some help Mark. I use to live in Garston and it was my local dog walking area up until I moved to Bedfordshire, so I know it very well. I will take your mobile number and give you a ring to see if you are still around the area.

Thanks for uploading photos Jayne. Duplicated page now deleted. Email from owner says that Suzi went missing yesterday after chasing a deer - UNFORTUNATELY SHE IS MUZZLED - but should be able to drink, but owner has said she cannot feed. Am awaiting a reply on which type of muzzle she is wearing. They have been searching all day yesterday, last night and first light this morning, but no sign. Scenting of the area is being done although it is so close to home, and very familiar to her, so she should be able to return home if able. The most she has ever been away on her own is 30 mins or 4 hrs with another dog. Apparently there are all the normal danger zones in the area. Lets hope there is good new today.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
