I spoke to the husband of the lady looking after him. Micky belongs to a breeder whose bitches are on heat so he was being looked after by a lady in Cottingley. She stopped on the recreation ground to talk to someone and when she looked for him he had gone. The were people around, but not sure if he was taken by someone or not. He has been here for about two weeks so does not know the area. He usually lives in kennels so is nervous when out and about. He is not used to men, so again can be nervous of them. He was wearing a RED COAT when he went missing. There are lots of dog owners in Cottingley so I will try to give out as many leaflets as possible and speak to people. I'll get posters to the vets in Shipley and Bingley, and pet shops in Shipley. Not sure how far away to poster to be honest. These are distinctive dogs so would be hard to hide nearby unless he wasn't walked. Need to make him too hot  to handle. The dog warden, police and stray kennels have been informed.

As soon as there's a photo we'll put posters up in our office and alert our supporters in Bingley area.  Is it supposed that he was stolen?  A distraction theft?  Or that the dog wandered off?

Just spoken to person who registered the dog as missing. It is not his dog and he doesn't have a photo but he is trying to contact the owner. He has promised to email photo as soon as he gets hold of one. No posters have been put up yet so have advised him to do so asap.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Harry, sorry to see Micky is missing.  Thanks for registering his details on DL, we will do all we can to help you in your search.  Can you upload photo/s a.s.a.p. or email to admin@doglost.co.uk (QUOTE ID 17453) any problems with a photo please let us know.  You need to poster poster poster the area as much as possible, we cannot stress enough the importance of the postering.  Posters can be printed by selecting Dog Poster 1 just above Dog Information (you must be logged in).    Contact DW's, rescues, vets and leave a poster (you can find vets in the area by clicking on the logo right hand side just underneath Latest Missing photo).  Dogs can be rehomed after 7 days, try and visit rescues do not rely on phone calls alone.   Please update us on who has been contacted i.e. DW's etc and if you have started postering.  You can leave a comment by selecting  Add a comment  just above Comments.  Good luck and hope he is found soon.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
