With great sadness, I am switching Cindy to Rainbow Bridge. Have heard from her owner and she was killed in an RTA shortly after going missing. This is such sad news, and I totaly understand how the family are feeling. Love to you all, at this sad time, and bless you Cindy, sweet girl - Run free at Rainbow Bridge x Email  from owner :-  This is just to let you know we have been told by the Traffic Police that Cindy was killed the day she went missing - just a short time since she was seen last.  She ran across the motorway (thank god no one was hurt).  She was hit by a car and was killed instantly.

We are all devasted and don’t really understand why she would be there, however, it is near the park and can only guess that she was chasing a rabbit.

I would like to thank you for all your help and support in our search for her.

An off duty traffic policeman recognised her from the poster we had up in our corner shop and rang our number.

Once again thank you for your help and kind words.

I do wonder why the traffic police did not inform our local dog warden, who would have known instantly that it was Cindy, however maybe that’s just the way things work .

Kind regards

Spoke to owner earlier this evening. They are devastated at the loss of Cindy, who has an on going eating disorder which makes it even more worrying as she could become very ill if given the wrong food. Cindy is a whippet Saluki cross, but looks like a whippet apart from having feathering on her ears and on her tail. She was lost from Henwood Park at about 3.0 clock in the afternoon when she ran after a rabbit. Was last seen on the Kennington Rugby Club green, heading towards the sewerage works. This is a massive place with lots of construction work going on. Mobile buildings and loads of vans but no people to be seen. Owner has put posters up in the area. Cindy is spayed, but is a very friendly dog, and we think she has probably been taken as she would definitely have been able to find her way home from where she was. Dog wardens have been notified for Maidstone, Ashford, Tunbridge, Swale and Folkstone. Many posters are up, and loads of people have been made aware and are watching for her. More advice given. Any helpers in the area, please come forward and help poster for cindy. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
