- CROSS POSTED UPDATE by Kellie:
The absolute best outcome we could’ve hoped for today which would not have been possible without the help of the whole community locally and beyond ❤️❤️❤️
There are a lot of questions and there’s been so much activity online the last few days that we have to apologise if we’ve missed updating people in the middle of all that has needed to be done. So many lovely kind people have offered support in so many ways so to all of you, THANK YOU 🙏🏼❤️ I know Cookie’s family are so grateful to everyone who has either sent messages of support or offered hands on help with postering, searching, spreading the word etc.
We had not ruled out the possibility of Cookie still being in the park but obviously for a tiny puppy it was less likely that she was staying hidden than it would be for an adult dog. Because she was so tiny young and vulnerable, we continued searches (which again would not be what you’d do for an adult dog) to cover all bases. Yesterday we had a report of a possible sighting of a similar dog - details were not certain but we decided to share some info publicly, just in case someone had her and was keeping her safe or didn’t know how to hand her back without getting into trouble.
Today shortly after we had searched the park once again - and shortly after the deadline we’d set for handing her in with no recourse had passed - Michelle received a call to say Cookie had been picked up, in an area we’d already searched many times, without many hiding places 🤔 Has she been hiding somewhere else all this time and finally made a run for it, or has someone had her and anonymously left her where they knew she’d be found quickly? We will never know for sure, we can only guess at what a strange coincidence it would be for her to pop up where we know she hasn’t been, without being seen moving in a busy park where everyone knew about her. But none of that is important now! All that matters is that this tiny baby (who is even smaller in real life than she looks in pictures!) is back where she belongs with her owners who love her so much.
Huge thank you once again to everyone, too many to name, who has helped in any way big or small in the search for this little baby ❤️❤️❤️ Massive well done to Cookie’s family for working round the clock since the minute she went missing and staying positive against all odds even when people said she would never be seen again ❤️ Welcome home little baby Cookie, you are so loved ❤️🥰 xxx

- CROSS POSTED post last night by Kellie:
We now have a potential video sighting of Cookie with someone who is not her owner.
We have a very distinctive description of that person - who will know how we are able to identify their face.
The family have decided they will give until midday tomorrow for the person(s) to come forward. Perhaps you have been keeping her safe and didn’t know how to get her home. Perhaps you have a similar puppy and can easily clear your name if it is mistaken identity. OR you can hand Cookie in to a police station or vets by midday tomorrow (Tuesday) - say you found her and saw her lost poster. You will not be in any trouble, you can hand her over anonymously and your description will go no further.
If Cookie’s family do not hear from this person by midday tomorrow, then their distinctive and very easily identifiable description, and video images of them and the person with them when the dog was spotted, will be sent to police for them to deal with the matter as theft. Their description will also be shared publicly as they will be recognisable to locals.
The choice is there for the person. They can make it easy for themselves and do the right thing now, or make it hard and face criminal charges for theft. This puppy’s face is everywhere and most of Liverpool already know about her. It would be much easier if Cookie is just handed over safely and anonymously now, but we will leave that up to them. - 2022-06-12 20:17 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West

QUICK UPDATE FOR CLARITY:
Owner is absolutely distraught and is doing everything she possibly can to cover all bases.
Cookie was on a route she has walked before, off lead and then vanished. We have walked the route and family dogs are scenting the area.
There is every chance Cookie is still in the park hiding. If this is the case then we want people to be very vigilant. You can walk the park and keep your eyes and ears open, please just don’t do anything that could compromise her safety. Spread the word, share the poster, speak to people if you’re walking but just in case she is hiding and trying to find her confidence or get her bearings, DO NOT go poking in bushes or thinking your dog will flush her out - this could put her in further danger and there is a lake there which we need to be very much aware of. She is not only a Frenchie but is very young so this is against her near the water. Do not take the chance that you looking for her with good intentions could push her closer to the lake if she gets spooked.
The other option is obviously that someone has found her and may be trying to keep her or may not know what to do wfh a lost dog over the weekend. If that’s the case we should know more tomorrow.
Usual lost dog protocols apply to an extent but Cookie is a very young pup so there may be some tweaks to what would be expected from a lost dog.
Please DO NOT add yet more negativity to a situation where this puppy’s family are operating on zero sleep and are absolutely terrified of something bad happening to her. It doesn’t help, it just clogs up comments that then can’t be followed. A mistake has been made and that is accepted, what matters now is focusing on trying to find Cookie wherever she may be.
Can you help with printing posters or leaflets and distributing in the local area please? We want the whole of the area from Anfield stadium to Goodison and all neighbouring streets, Priory Road, Utting Avenue, Walton Lane, Arkles Lane - everywhere nearby - absolutely saturated with information please so that if anyone sees or hears of Cookie they know what to do right away. Jan Major has kindly made a poster via Dog Lost which is printable, please use it and put it up anywhere nearby, put one in your car, your window, anywhere. Help to make sure anyone who sees Cookie knows she is lost and very much loved and calls her owner immediately.
Thank you to everyone who’s been so supportive and helpful x - 2022-06-12 18:23 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- A lot has been going on today in the search for COOKIE. Her family are doing a great job following advice given. Local helpers have been out looking and a Trapping Team are also advising and on hand if needed for trapping. Posters being printed and some also ordered which should be here tomorrow. Thanks everyone who is helping. Keeping everything crossed that most important call comes in. 🤞
