Excellent, Gucci IS home!! Welcome home boy, back where you belong. Email from owner - "Sorry for the delayed reply. Been a little hectic this week. Numerous phone calls and we finally got one from a man in shoebury saying he'd seen a poster after he'd been away on a fishing trip for a few days. So we have finally got him back! I think the paper article and posters perhaps stirred up a little guilt in people." Gucci's owner is going to post an update on here tomorrow morning. Well done for all the postering you did, it certainly paid off! Thank you to everyone, especially the RSPCA and dog warden who spread the word.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi happy dog.....I certainly hope this is the case!! I have not heard from the owners that Gucci is back, have texted and called recently but no reply. We've been in email contact so hopefully they'll pick up my latest email and let me know. A lot of people will be pleased if he is as I have had loads digging around for info and trying to track Gucci down.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've just come back from walking my dogs when I met a lady I see regularly who is a friend of Gucci's owner. She said that she thought Gucci was reunited with his owner at the weekend! Is there some way this can be confirmed? (I'd hate Gucci to be moved to reunited without confirmation!) ThanksLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to the RSPCA Chief Inspector for Essex, she has done a lot of checking for me, and sadly all has drawn a blank. There is no record of Gucci on their system, nor has he been taken to one of their centres. It is possible although the sister worked for the RSPCA that she has kept Gucci at home (but not reported him). Hopefully as lots of people are aware now and on the look out it will shed some light and we'll find Gucci. There are lots of posters locally so hopefully the man who picked Gucci up will see them and call. Also hoping to get some local press coverage. We are presuming at the moment the info is genuine but of course its always possible the man didn't have a sister (or at least not one that works in the RSPCA).Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Jan. The hunt is still on. Have contacted a very helpful lady at the RSPCA who is going to check their national system and also do a bit of digging. Sarah, the Basildon DW is also kindly getting Gucci's poster over to the local RSPCA inspector and asking him to take and display at the local branches. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Update: Owner has received a call from a gentleman who saw Gucci at the weekend. He stopped and was going to take him in but at the same time so did another man who said his sister worked for the RSPCA so he took the dog and seemed to know what he was doing. So hopefully Gucci is tucked up safe somewhere.....we've just got to track him down now as there have been no found reports with matching description made to the dog warden yet. I have passed various local contact numbers for the RSPCA on to owner who will get on to those and hopefully Gucci will be back home with his family and brother (who is pining for him) very soon. Owner has contacted all the relevant people - dog warden, vets, kennels etc. A4 posters and smaller flyers done and emailed over. If anyone is local and can help please post here to let me know and I will gladly forward posters on to you.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
