This is just the tip of a very big iceberg I’m afraid. I get so frustrated by this kind of thing, and the authorities unwillingness to take dog theft seriously - also the unwllingness fo politicians to force them to! - that I go for long periods shutting my eyes to the whole thing as it’s almost unbearable. To many of us - sincgle people, the lederly (or liek me both!) - kids from broken homes etc etc, their dog is everything.  I hope you’ve alerted everyone you can think of Michelle, to these people, It’s clearly an organised scam. Let us know what happens then the dog warden, police, and a local TV camera turn up there

Is it possible that in finding Chaos you may have stumbled upon the link that is needed in the many missing and stolen dogs that there are.   Do the animal welfare organisations need to be made aware by a mass doglost helpers campaign Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Michelle, I'm absolutely thrilled to hear that Chaos is back home. But what a dreadful situation to find yourself in - the place where she was being held captive sounds appalling - poor girl. I have been admiring those lovely photos of her digging herself a nice hole and having a cuddle - her happy face is a picture - quite delightful! It will be interesting to hear if her chip is picked up when you visit the vet although I think we all know what the answer will be on this one! Welcome home Chaos - wishing you and your family many happy times ahead - stay safe sweetheart.

Yea I agree and I will follow it all up first thing tomorrow. Chaos was in a 100% black room, it was like an out house and it had no light at all, she was with another dog too but there were bars to keep them seperate. I still cannot get my head around the whole story, I just feel like I have been chasing her all day and was so close to losing her, so glad she is home...she needs a bath though lol she stinks a bit like her owner after all of that walking lol xx

Michelle, so pleased to see that Chaos is home safely but this story is awful, Chaos was not reported to the dog warden and then advertised for sale by the finders there is something very wrong here and needs to be investigated furtherLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Fantastic news. really glad you have got her back safe and well. It does sound like she was in a very dodgy place and thankfully you managed to get her back. It must be a great relief to know she is OK and to have her home. A good end to the story at least.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi All
What a total nightmare of a day...just glad it has a happy ending :)
I went out early morning putting up more posters and by the afternoon a lady called me to say that she knew who had Chaos and that she was trying to sell her.
I went down to this ladies shop but it was closed so I posted one of my posters through her door in the hope that she would find it before selling my dog. She then called me a couple of hours later to say that she had my dog but had moved her to another lady who was holding her while they sold her, she said that I am very lucky because my dog is in the local paper this week to be sold.
I went to this others ladies house, its just all too dodgy and im feeling a bit upsetso many expensive dogs down there, at least 30...so why haven’t they called the dog warden or anyone?? They said that they had taken her to the vets to be scanned but no chip had shown up, so me and Chaos are booked in to the vets this Saturday to check this out because she is defo chipped.
I am just so glad to get her back, she hugged me the whole way home and I have never been so happy to be covered in dog hair lol The kennel that Chaos was in was in total darkness and she just went crazy when she saw me :) she is so cute and I love her so much xxx
Thanks for everyones support xxx

OK, thats great I can start heading up there from tonight. If I go on the bike (Seal will just run along at the side of me) I will be able to get right down the far end towards the river (near the Boat Inn) and back up towards Bentley - not sure where that way leads to, but I can see where I end up. There are also a lot of hiding places on the estate where the Range is so i will keep looking round there as well Fingers crossed (Don't give up hope!)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Ian
That would be great thank you :)
She has been seen around the track where Anchorage Lane joins on to it and around the back of the range and towards Bentley.
She was seen yesterday by two young girls, she was just running really fast down the track again. It seems like she keeps running past our own road which joins to the track but she never actually comes on to the road or around the houses.
I have just come back now after putting up more posters and handing out even more flyers. I got a call from Cusworth Hall saying that I am not allowed to put my posters up and that they have taken them all down already :(
I thought it was funny about people looking at you walking your dog. I have told so many people now that I bet every husky owner around us is getting some very strange looks hehe I just hope I get her back soon, I am starting to lose hope now...maybe I am just tired, we went out at around 4:30am to start looking down those tracks.
Michelle x

Hi Michelle, I am Ethan's dad who is in your daughters class at school. Sorry to hear about Chaos going missing - Jill told me about it and the situation in which she has gone. Anyway - I am out walking Seal every night around Sprotbrough - if you could let me know the area/places/tracks where she has been seen, I can walk seal in these areas, to see if I can see Chaos while I'm out. It might be a long shot but if she is heading home it is worth a try. The good thing is that while I have been out I have heard a few people say 'is that Chaos' as I have gone by, which does mean people are keeping an eye out for her.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You are all working so hard!!  Michelle, this is wonderful that you have managed to draw her so far back in, and close to home. You may be able to lay a scent from where you layed food, and she was seen, right back to your home now. Perhaps can you leave the way open, so she can get into the garden, and also put food and bedding there? I feel you are all very close now. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This afternoon we went over to the area where Chaos we last sighted and just walked the many footpaths stopping walkers and handing out loads of flyers.  It was very busy today with both walkers and cyclists but no one had seen her. Everyone we spoke to was concerned and said they would pass the word on. Many of Michelles posters have been pulled down maybe by rangers for the footways but we need to get more up again to keep people aware that Chaos is out there somewhere. With all the sightings so far only being in the early morning it seems very likely this girl is hiding up during the day which would account for none of the many daytime walkers seeing her.x PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Michelle, it's Carol again! You seem to be doing all the right things. She must be so confused poor love! But the fact that she is still be seen is hopeful. Is there a way you could get some folks together to do a more thorough search, some family members maybe, people that she knows? My thoughts and prayers are with you and Chaos right now. I pray she keeps herself safe and you and she meet up again very very soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi
I went to the kennel yesterday and the Sibe down there wasn't Chaos, it was the most sweet husky boy I have ever seen bless him.
I went out yesterday putting up posters and spoke to loads of people as usual and Chaos was seen two days ago at around 5am in the morning coming out of some bushes on the track. She was very close to home too, must have been only ten minute walk away from my home and it was Chaos because the man who saw her actually took notice of her shaved area too. He couldn't catch her due to her not having her collar on and he said she just ran back in to the trees again.
On the track there is a part where it can go off in four different directions and it seems that she keeps being seen on all four paths. I am a single mum so I haven't walked the tracks so late at night or early in the morning. So I am going to sort something today with my children so that they can sleep out at my mums and then I can head down there through the night and early morning. I am also going to take her blankets and smelly food to make her a bed, see if this will draw her in. To get to the point where she has been seen now she must have followed that scent trail or just by luck wondered in the right direction.
The last place where she was seen was the last spot of where I put the scent down for her. I am just hoping that she is still on these four paths, she could be hiding anywhere coz there is lots of trees but at least its closer to home. I am going to be as thin as a stick by the time I get her back.
I miss her so much
Michelle

unbelievable michelle! go down the kennels yourself and demand answers to why you have been told 3 different stories. this is ridiculous, do they not keep records on which dogs they get in? i now am starting to understand why dogs get rehomed through kennels such as these, when their owners are looking for them, due to the complete lack of competence from morons who are into 'rescue' as a business as opposed to the dogs welfare. Hi
We have been walking since 9am today and only just come back home after not seeing or hearing anymore about Chaos...no one has seen her at all.
I called the dog kennel and thought that she had been taken in because the man on the phone told me a Siberian Husky, grey and blue eyes had been taken in today. I called back just to confirm what time the kennel closes and a different man picked up...he then told me that this female side has brown eyes and had been there for 3 weeks. I was gutted and so confused over this because all week I have been calling and I have been told that they have no Sibe's in the kennels at all. So I called back again because I just felt so confused over this, why would I get two different stories from these guys?? This time a women picked up the phone and she said..."no, this sibe here is Male so it is not Chaos"
I have been left feeling totally confused now by the dog kennel so I am taking a drive down there myself tomorrow to check it out.
Michelle

Just an update.
Chaos has not been seen since this morning on the motorway. The last time she was seen will have made her around 30 miles away from her home. We assume that she must be back in the woods which we are glad about but there is so much open land where she is and its getting very hard to find her.

Yasa thanks for alerting me to the sightings today ! I have phoned her owners and thankfully she has headed for cover again in the woods. I just hope she stays away from the motorway..............apparently she was running in the middle of the M1 early this morning ! Where she is being sighted is about 15 miles from home. Owners have asked people NOT to chase her but to call them if they see her and they will get there as soon as they can. Her owners are now  heading back over to where she has gone into hiding. Everything crossed here that they get this girl back ASAP x Pam Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Chaos has been seen three times today running down the M1. Traffic police are trying to find her because she was running down the centre and could soon cause an accident. All three people have tried to catch her but she is so frightened and keeps running in to places where people cannot get to her. For now she has headed back in to the woods and tracks. We have a farmer and council workers also searching for her, it seems like plenty of people are seeing her but no one can seem to catch her. I have laid a scent trail for her too which I have also used her fur in the mixture because she has recently blown her coat and it was still all over the garden, so I collected it up and spread it around the tracks and back to her home today. Fingers crossed My mobile number is 07854126470Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

it seems that she is moving quite far away from home and I cannot get out there so late at night but I will try to arrange to be out there tomorrow night so that I can maybe catch her while she is sleeping. This women saw her this morning in this area so she could be even more miles away by now but to be honest Chaos is very lazy for a husky and she could have gone further by now if she had been running, so I do not think she is on the move fast.

Michelle I  tried to ring you for an update on Chaos this morning and then again just now but no answer and your message facility says it has no room for more messages. Its so good to hear there has been a sighting. Are you positive it WAS Chaos. If you are then please follow the scenting instructions sent to you by Yasa and please keep us updated of ANy sightings of her !  If you click on the 'Notice Board' tab at the top of this page and scroll to the bottom when the page opens you will see a section on Dolly's Directive re routine scanning of dogs. There are a couple of campaigns that I know about that are trying to encourage vets to routinely scan new dogs. These are Dolly's Directive and Vets Get Scanning. The latter was started by the daughter of Bruce Forsyth when her dogs went missing. There is a website that has details about it, and a letter you can show vets explaining what the campaign is about to try and get them on board. I'm sure you are concentrating on finding your dog at the moment, but these are worth a look once Chaos is home. Fingers crossed for you !!!

Bumped due to sighting. This is brilliant news Michelle. Now you can work around this point she was sen hiding. Is it far from home? You may be able to scent from hat area she was seen, back o home. Hi I have the police coming around again today to look further in to Chaos going missing. I am being treated like I am crazy right now and its doing my head in, all I want is my dog back. I am constantly calling round vets, dog wardens, kennels and so on and I have to say that I am totally disgusted at the sort of response I am getting about Chaos being micro chipped. It seems like anyone could just take Chaos and tell a vet that it is their own dog and the vet would never even check this, no routine scans are ever done to check chips, I think this should be law. Would it honestly do us any good to have a petition to make this a law that all vets and kennels must abide by? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Michelle if you can, enlist the help of family and friends tonight even. Those posters need getting out in pubs. Hand them out, and speak to the locals. They are a mind of information, and dont miss much. This is where dogs often get sold on immediately they are stolen. Good at least that Chaos is microchipped. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi
I have asked loads of people around me about Chaos because everyone knows and really loves here. People would always stop and talk to her on walks and she just got very well known, but no one has seen or heard anything of her so far. The police seem to think that I have been watched over a long period of time and then Chaos has just been taken while we were sleeping, its so bad.
I have posters up but not in the pubs, I will do this tomorrow.
Thanks for your help

Michelle - welcolm. Thank you for the update. I have updated the circumstances box that she was stolen and has an on going medical problem. This is dreadful. I advise you to get hundreds of posters up immediately, and be sure to do the pubs and pub car parks over a widish area. Also ask the police for a crime number if this is theft. Get as much media publicity as you can and make her too hot to handle. Did any neighbours hear or see any vehicles or strangers in he area, or has anyone had any work done near you lately who would have noticed Chaos? Anyone paid any particular interest in her? We think that Chaos has actually been stolen during the night 30/03/2009. I have contacted the police, kennels, council, the local paper is trying to put out a story about her and the local radio station also put out a mention for her on the 31/03/2009. I have posters going up today and I am going to start knocking on some doors in my local area to ask if anyone has seen or heard anything. We are trying to keep an eye out for anyone trying to sell Chaos with her being stolen. We hope that if she has been stolen, that she will get away from whoever has her because she is a very hard dog to handle at the best of times. I just pray for her to come home, she needs her antibiotics and has an ongoing illness which I know very well and understand her routine for this illness too, it is important that she comes home soon or she will really suffer even if she is in loving hands of someone who has taken her in.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
