Message from owner
She is just amazing and settled in very well as if she never went away, she acts like she is a puppy and at the grand age of 13 gives Rosie and Wispa a run for their money, always being the first to get the stick or the ball.
She is still remembering things from before she disappeared often bringing a tear to our eye when we realise what she is doing or asking for.

Thank you so much for your help xxLast edited: 2015-09-09 22:04:18 by AlisonH

Wow - absolutely brilliant! Another long term missing back home where she belongs, and after 5 years too. Welcome home lovely Poppy, stay very close and safe now xxx
Unknown
Brilliant. So happy for you. Poppy may have been looked after by a male in the time she was missing, and this might be why she seems more attached to your husband. She will soon adapt, especially if you put a small piece of cloth with your scent on, and place under her food bowl whilst she is eating, and perhaps you be the one who feeds her for a while. (((HUGS))) to Poppy.Last edited: 2014-07-13 23:07:01

Its been five weeks now and no news or sightings of Poppy!
Been out postering again further afield, handing out leaflets to dog walkers and shops. Contacted police, wardens, kennels and local paper for any updates but nothing seen or heard of Poppy.

Found Male Black Cross Breed
A black dog with a white chest had been wandering around our neighbourhood, which is Knuzden, Blackburn. Lancashire, for around 4 weeks.
Despite best efforts from residents the dog was frightened and initially would not approach anyone. We all left food and water for him and tried our best to win his trust. Eventually he approached an elderly man and just held out his paw to him. The mans family handed the dog over to the Dog Warden.
The Dog Warden took him to the council used kennels where he is waiting to see if his owners turn up. We ( a number fo Knuzden residents) are all very concerned for his future as he is a lovely little dog.
If this is your dog or you know who he belongs to please contact the Aspen Valley Kennels directly on 01254 971913 and quote ref: 76/09 hynLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Visited Mount Pleasant kennels (lovely lady) Poppy not there, left a poster. These people have lots of doglost posters on their walls!.
Visited Springfield kennels and spoke to a different person from the first time I went and although it was after closing time she allowed me to look around, they also have doglost posters up in office, but still no luck with finding Poppy.
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP & SUPPORT & WITH POSTERING !

Postered around the area and spoke to a few dog owners ... handed posters out in Farnley Park we then postered  around the area . There were a couple of instances where  a dog similar had been sighted but the difficulty is knowing if it was in fact Poppy. Owners are / and have done as much as they can ---just so sad that Poppy hasnt been found yet.   They tried to go to the stray kennels but found they werent allowed  access  to do this when searching for Poppy Their other dogs are missing her too.  Hope she is found and home soon xx    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

free_spirit, thanks for the update but so sorry to see you have still not found your girl Poppy.  Try and get some media coverage and go further afield with the postering and spreading the word.  Good luck.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Poppy went missing from our garden, we have posted posters everywhere, contacted vets, police, dog wardens & rescue center's. Its over a week now since she went missing and we have had no news of her. The dog warden told us not to ring again (we only rang once each day) the only real help we have had is from yourselves for which we are grateful!

I have spoken to Poppy's owner tonight and there was a possible sighting of Poppy on Friday morning 3rd April at 6.30 am near to the Poplar Estate which is about a 20 minute walk from where she went missing from. Her owners have informed dog wardens, contacted local stray kennels and are postering. Hoping to see this lovely girl back home very soon xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner, sorry to see Poppy is missing.  Thanks for registering her details with DL, we will do all we can to help you in your search.  Great you have now supplied a photo.   You need to poster poster poster the area as much as possible, we cannot stress enough the importance of the postering.  Posters can be printed by selecting Dog Poster 1 just above Dog Information (you must be registered and logged in).    Has she gone missing from home or on a walk? Contact DW's, rescues, vets and leave a poster (you can find vets in the area by clicking on the logo right hand side just underneath Latest Missing photo).  Dogs can be rehomed after 7 days, try and visit rescues do not rely on phone calls alone.  Brilliant she is Chipped ensure you contact the Chip Co and report her missing and check your details are up to date, if you have not done so already. Please update us on who has been contacted i.e. DW's etc and if you have started postering.  You can leave a comment by selecting  Add a comment  just above Comments.  Good luck and hope she is found soon.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
