- Final update
After some further digging and investigation into the microchip, we can now confirm that this boy has been fraudulently handed over as a stray.
Due to his overall poor condition, we will be seeking legal advice so we can take the appropriate action.
On a brighter note, we're pleased to announce that Dobermann Rescue UK & Europe Reg Charity No 1169697 have jumped in to offer this lovely lad a rescue space and he'll headed their way Saturday.
Thank you for your continued support 🐶 - 2022-10-19 15:23 nickyb

🌟 Update 18.10.22 🌟
After chasing the Hungarian authorities for information on the chip, we now have strong suspicions that this boy has been dumped.
He hasn't even had his first birthday yet but had clearly been through so much. Please continue to watch this space.

🌟 Update 15.10.2022 🌟
We'd like to politely request that people stop calling our out of hours service for updates on this dog. We know people care, but it's bogging down the line and we don't have anymore updates for you.
He isn't at risk of being put to sleep and if needed, we have a rescue ready to step in. As we've stated many times before, we operate a non-destruction policy unless a dog has severe behavioural/medical problems.
For those asking, he's an entire male.
He will not be rehomed privately by either the kennels or Swale. Why? Because he has both medical and behavioural needs that need addressing.
When and if we have anymore news, we'll let you know.
Thank you for understanding.

#foundog Male Dobermann found straying in Thomas Road, Sittingbourne.
He has a Hungarian microchip which hasn't been registered to an English database.
This picture is very deceiving as sadly, this boy is in poor condition. Not only is he extremely underweight, but a vet has confirmed he has conjunctivitis in both eyes, what appears to be chronic ear issues, diarrhoea and patches of fur missing from his coat.
Though he can be handled, he became highly distressed at the vet so a more thorough examination wasn't possible. He's also showing signs of severe stress in the kennels so has been prescribed gapapentin.
Please refrain from turning this into a discussion about ear cropping. We know the procedure is illegal in the UK but this dog is an import.
If you recognise this dog, please call SBC on 01795 417850, the OOH's service on 07795 237479 or the kennels on 01634 233624. - 2022-10-14 22:38 Louise
