Bless her. Agree entirely with previous comments. Takes seconds to scan a dog or cat. Should be done routinely every time they attends vets. xxx

From Val - Valgreys Rescue who very kindly took time to look into this "We delivered Pip back to owners tonight but the story of this poor dog took some work to sort out. 2013 she was stolen. The chip was registered as missing/stolen. So for 9 years she spent her life in another home. If she had gone to vets during that time and they had scanned and checked maybe the original owners would have had her back. Sadly when we contacted them today they could not be reunited and were happy to relinquish ownership. But the sad part about this Vets must start scanning dogs and look up ownership especially if they have new dogs that have just been purchased or been given to new people. It should be mandatory. Vets must see hundreds of pets and I bet some have a missing stolen flag on them. Come on vets. Scan and check chips it don’t take long to do "
