Benzo has now been reunited with his owner! Hurray! It seems some people that knew the owner claimed the dog as their own, but he is now back where he belongs xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I spoke to Benzo's owner yesterday.  There has been no news, but the police are following up leads, so we should have an update soon.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There was an article in the Bath Chronicle this week that hopefully will be fruitful for more information, or for Benzo to be returned home.
I am also up at Bath Cats and Dogs Home tomorrow for the morning, and will find out what I can in terms of any update.
I have seen posters around Bath, so lets hope this prompts Benzo's safe return very soon.

The true way of identifying a dog is by microchip, even then the dog details need to be kept up to date.  In this case there seems to be something underlying going on,  As there was alot of people who knew this dog and wanted to claim it.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Which all goes to show that the correct "proof" needs to be checked when someone is laying claim to a dog, doesn't it?  What a disaster and how appalling for the owners.  Lets hope the Bath Chronicle can help by working their magic as they have done so many times before.  I do hope the CCTV at the Dogs Home and the Credit card details will help catch these culprits.  In the meantime keep postering like mad.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've just spoken to Joseph, Benzo's owner.  No more news yet, but the police are going to make Bath Chronicle, our local paper aware. I have suggested Joseph also let the local radio station know, and he will be taking posters to the Royal Mail sorting office too. We will keep in touch for any news. Best of luck for this sweet boy xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

In the meantime couldn't you try putting up posters offering a big reward and see if they phone up?

Having spoken to owner...it appears Benzo was taken to Bath cats and dogs home by the finder then later 2 guys came in to report the dog missing mentioning its bent nose ( how would they know that? )  they were asked if he was the owner Joseph who had reported him missing they said yes thats me then paid by...credit card???   In the hands of the police now...so obviously amatuers...only a matter of time before details can be checked. Owner is busy putting up posters. Have advised that a local co ordinator will get in touch as and when.  Bath cats and dogs home and police are liasing with the Chronicle newspaper that has led so many dogs taken from the home to be reunited quickly.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
