Millys Mum
Jack and family, I'm so pleased to hear that this lovely little boy is back home. Also a big thank you to the caring DW. And how lovely to hear that you will be giving a special home to a rescue Staffie (or Staffie x). I hope that you will all have many happy times together. Just one small ask, could you make sure that your new family member gets a chip and an ID tag on his collar?! Thank you for your kindness.

This is just such good news. And such a complicated story. - I am so pleased that this lovely boy is now safe, and back home with his owner. I was so concerned he may get knocked down on the road. What a weird little adventure he has had - finding himself board and lodgings for the few days he was lost, with the most lovely family, who informed all authorities, but cared for him like a king in their own home. Only for him to panic, and to get lost again, and leave more people searching for him. As Steph said, thank you to the Dog Warden for kindly assisting us, thanks to the family who caught him the second time, and informed the authorities, and thank you to Jack, and his lovely family, for all they have done for 'Dog', even down to registering him on here the first time. I know Jack, from what you have said, you will now offer a home to a very very lucky Staffy, from the rescue centre near by. Thank you so much for that, and I hope it all turns out well. - And to 'Dog' - welcome home boy, and you stay safe now - for goodness sake x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am pleased to be able to confirm that this boy is now back home. His owner collected him from the Tandridge DW this afternoon & both dog & owner were very pleased to see each other. A big thank you to the Tandridge Dw for liaising with us & a big thank you ,again to Jack & his family as well as the family in Whyteleafe who found this boy on the second occasion & contacted the authorities. Well done everyone & WELCOME HOME handsome boy.Stay safe now. Steph xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jack , thank you for your call earlier. It does seem the dog  in the warden's custody has an owner & hopefully the owner will be able to get in contact tomorrow & then this will be resolved.  I'd just like to thank you & your family for the care & concern you gave to this young dog over the weekend & the effort you put in trying to find him . I will follow this through tomorrow so as to be able to confirm the dog is home & then let everyone know. Steph.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I should also say that I could easily have jumped to inappropriate conclusions about the owner which I seem to have shared here (as pointed out to me in emails which I appreciate). I really have no idea of the circumstances.

I'm hoping this case is resolved. A dog matching this description was found locally and is in custody of Warden. The Warden is also aware of the possible original owner. So it should be good news.
Good work team!
Thanks for your help and support.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jack here, otherwise referred to as 'Owner'. Trouble is, I'm not the owner, I just found the dog 1am Sat morning and lost him by Sun afternoon (sounds a bit irresponsible, but I'm not really). Unfortunately, by that time Dog had somehow managed to gain my loyalty and the whole families affection.
I have postered a bit, not enough, but I'm uncomfortable with it. I'm concerned it isn't socially acceptable, concerned that it isn't my dog, and also concerned that I wouldn't really like to meet the original owner - I don't think we would get on very well. The original owner obviously could detach themselves from animal suffering at least and I have kids to worry about. So probably no more posters from me although I feel guilty for not doing so :(
One suggestion - I was really grateful of poster but it isn't appropriate for everywhere. A smaller size would be great for supermarket boards, pertrol stations, train stations etc where you really have to get some sort of approval or the poster will be removed quickly. So if you have a resident web wizz kid, consider making a smaller version avail - size of post card.
I'll still keep pursuing other methods.

Hi owner - welcome on board doglost. Thank you for leaving a comment. Have you postered the area of loss, and further away? You need to get hundreds of posters up as quickly as possible. Please will you tell us how the dog went missing and we can advise you more. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner could you please upload a photograph of your dog as soon as possible or email one to admin@doglost.co.uk - we need it for a poster. As soon as a photo is on site, your posters can be printed by clicking on DOG POSTER 1 above the dog details boxes left hand side. you will need hundreds of photos out there as soon as possible, particularly in area of loss, pubs, pub car parks, dog walking areas, busy supermarkets animal food stores, bus and train stations, etc etc. Notify your Dog Warden immediately and any on adjoining councils. Notify RSPCA, police, vets and rescue centres in the area in case he is handed in. Do not rely on all authorities contacting each other. Please call them all, every day, and hand posters to all that you can, for identification. Good Luck, and please get a photo to us staright away.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
