Update on Facebook: Our family continues to desperately miss our beloved puppy Cedar and we are appealing to anyone who might know anything about him to please please contact us or message Cedar’s page or contact your local vet.

If you have seen/found or taken in a medium sized white/brown, slim build young English Orange Belton English Setter since March 10, 2023, please think about having him scanned to make sure he is not our beloved Cedar.

We just need to know what has happened as not knowing feeds our despair and nightmares.

We last saw him in our field in Midford, on Friday night on March 10 at 5:20 pm. It was rush-hour during that time and cars were streaming down the B3110 going out of Bath for the weekend or coming up to Bath for a night out. It was just before his dinner time, and it was a routine walk. We know that he was seen at Midford Castle, our neighbouring property.

Did you see anything by any chance, were you in the car or on a walk yourself? He is quite significant in size, and feathery in body. He is white with mottled brown colouring and tan ears. At the time, he would have been hungry for his dinner and looking to come home and cuddle up in his basket. We do not understand how he could have disappeared so suddenly. Our other dog looks for him every day, confused, bringing out his toys to play with him.

Every day we look across the fields, in the hedgerows, in the woods, by the river. He hates the rain and every day it rained in March and April we thought about how he could be safe and dry with us instead of out there somewhere.

Every day we look at the marks of chewed furniture around the house- he chewed everything. We could never leave food out on the counters, and we lost many of our favourite shoes and boots. He was a handful and it took a whole family to look after him properly. His whole family is still waiting and ready to look after him. We cannot imagine anyone else having the time, the energy, or the will to look after such a demanding dog and we would completely understand if someone thought they could look after him and then realised they could not handle an adolescent English Setter intent on chewing his way through everything.

We will have nothing but gratitude for anyone who helps bring him back to us, even if they have been looking after him for a while. It would make our family whole again.

We have been amazed and so grateful for the kindness of many of our neighbours and friends who have helped support the team by looking for him over many weeks, sharing social media posts, as well as putting up posters in the area. Doglost, Search and Scan SAS and DroneSAR are fantastic organisations with an amazing group of committed individuals. We give to all of you our heartfelt thanks for everything you have done so far and continue to do.

Please continue to support Cedar Still Missing by sharing and posting this message.

Can’t stop thinking about this puppy so hope he is found safe and well….spent last night going through all the free ad sites just incase he popped up etc…on going through so many listed lost dogs on this site surprising how many were stuck not far from where they were missing..ie there was a lab missing 2 weeks and was caught on some fencing wire not frat from where he was last seen… surely a 10 month old pup would not have the confidence to go so far?

All the English Setter community are praying for his safe return
